May 16, 2016 @Narsh you haven't mentioned "The Blanguage" yet have you? Gonna have some serious problems if it's not mentioned lol
May 16, 2016 13. No Way I'll never understand what they decided to push and what they decided to ignore for SS1/2. Well...now that I'm actually thinking about it...maybe they just didnt have the budget to really push anything..? Best Friend blew up organically and they gave it the video it deserved, but nothing else off of 1/2 had the same type of success outside of "Power" (which honestly could've been done on a very humble budget -- it's just footage of thug's personal basketball court + when they were overseas) They completely ignored tracks like Freaky, Calling your Name, and No Way. The leaks f----- up Thugs trajectory in so many ways. It would've been SO crippling for any other artist. Im assuming the idea of repackaging so many leaked tracks is part of the reason ss1 had no real budget for music videos and s---...but due its success they had mor eto work with for SS2 (hence the attempts at blowing up big racks and thief in the night...then again, they shouldve done Pull Up on a Kid as well but never did). Tracks as genuinely magical as No Way not getting the recognition they deserve is such a shame. It's okay though, because he's the future and the present, baby. And he's here to stay. Each verse showcases multiple different ways Thug can twist the english language to his cuh-man, and I doubt the sky-i is even a high of ceiling for this man. The way Tumay strings together Thug's soulful harmonies is seamless. The London beat twinkles with an innocence only Thug's childlike outlook of the world can match. Imagine anyone else rapping to this beat. No way. These p---- n----s peasants and Thug's got skinny jeans with a weapon. 12. Flava One of the greatest hooks of all time (blessed by OJ Mayo himself). A fully loaded Birdman verse (hot n----- dont stop). A stellar RHQ sermon (he's got more verses than the bible). And a stunning final act by the best rapper of this decade (who chases cougars while wearin crew cuts in his down time). The only reason this masterpiece isnt in my top 10 is because I overplayed it. Actually though. It's top 10 most played in my iTunes. I haven't even really played it like that in a YEAR and it's still sitting up there (on the top, bored, no neighbor). Whatever tho Im gonna go cop a roley (yes a rolex) and bowflex on a n----- idgaf about these lists smh (says the guy that made 2 "rank these" threads already today) 11. Friend of Scotty Man a lot of you are probably thinkin' I'm putting this ahead of so many other worthy cuts just to be flagrant and s--- but I'm not b. If Flava is in my top 10 on iTunes...Friend of Scotty, believe it or not, is in like the top 5. Hundreds of plays. For a random loosie. That a good amount of people (including my friend irl who f---s w thug as much as me) don't even rate that highly aside from laughing at the "blunt look like a d-ck" line. But nah b. Nah. No one's trying to start s--- here, I legitimately think this song is great. And where Flava, due mainly to its length, eventually reached the point where I overplayed it...Friend of Scotty has yet to find that ledge. That's gotta count for something... Goose and Thug are extremely underrated together (he's given us s--- like Calling Your Name for f---s sake). The oddly intoxicating production is a perfect match for the weirdo rapping about smoking d----s and eating your girl's pizza. There's something about the melody to this hook that I'm never gonna forget, for the rest of my life man. The whole "I want your piece of pizza I want...so bad I swipe my Visa Visa...I want." The hooks actually pretty menacing though if you break it down lol. He's in love with a chick he's serving crack to it...and he's accidently turned her into a fiend. Friend of Thugger...now she a friend of Scotty. But his jovial delviery and the silly a--- trumpets or whatever Goose has going on helps you (and probably Thug) forget about all that. He's just doing his best...like the fifth grade test. Wait tho lmao...imagine that. Last time Thug tried his hardest was tryina make the 6th grade, and only because his bro was gonna buy him a f---in' car if he did Also there's the 5th, 6th, michael vick (7th), and lil tic (8 mile) wordplay thing going on there. And this is the first track I think I heard Thug use the worse "therefore" lol. He also rhymes truancy/flick with me/italy/ten-a-piece/missin me/tiffanys in the 2nd verse. idk man i just love this track. May 16, 2016 I revisited the songs again and yeaa friend of scotty is a favorite one too. Agree that they should have pushed more songs from ss1 especially freaky. I think that cud be a hit. Also isnt friend of scotty produce by dun deal? @Narsh
