Tell me "Imma look over these b------s like terms and conditions" isn't one of the best opening lines to ever exist. Rich Homie's girl would rather text instead of talk on phones (and he loves that), Thug's girl says she can do the same thing as 5 b------s (so he went and fired those 5 b------s). They're both full of lust being tricked into love. There's something about her...she took their lives and they wanna steal it back. May 18, 2016 8. Pelican Fly Only One, Hold Us, Pelican Fly and Choke all came out right around new years 2015. I remember a single tear rolling down my cheek as I passed out listening to Only One on some random persons couch that night, then getting rid of the hangover the next morning with the other three tracks. Hold us is a collab w RHQ and Peewee Longway while Choke is w RHQ and Nipsey Hussle..and Thug is crazy good on both. But the standout even back then was the one solo track out of the bunch -- Pelican f---ing Fly. The title, probably ripped from this Wayne song (which was probably ripped from this Scarface scene) is the name of my poorly kept blog. Over the past year, this phenomenal track has gone from an impressive but poorly mixed/kind of abrasive loosie to legit one of the best examples of what makes Young Thug work. It's overwhelmingly euphoric. Forces you to feel what he feels. It might because I've written about 42 other songs already, but its really hard to verbalize why I love Pelican Fly so much. He shrieks "oh god" like he's climaxing, builds tepees on the runway, runs off on his plug, and sees birds every Sunday (no Falcons). All in time for Magic City on a Monday, ay. This is my roommates favorite young thug song (he's gotten a crash course in his music since moving last September) Dun Deal comes through, just like with Friend of Scotty, and proves why him and Thug are the OG goat duo. Thug steals a line Wayne already delivered with infectious bravado, and takes it to unimaginable heights. He turns the phrase over and over again until youre drunk off words. He doesn't give a d--- what you say to him. He's got a hood, he's Trayvon good. But his cars got no hood, in case you misunderstood. He's in his zone and can't find his way home. They flooded Atlanta, and all he wants to do is dodge the drama and give his girl weird-a--- nicknames like Timber (cuz he loves the wood, get it?). He just wants to let her know she's pelican fly. He takes off running...and has yet to cease his forward momentum.
