Aug 25, 2016 For those of you who don't know, 1. Outside was album released by David Bowie, September 25th, 1995. This was a concept album based on the sacrificial murder of a baby, and a detective named Nathan Adler. The linear notes of the album from Bowie himself describe it as, "The diary of Nathan Adler or the art-ritual murder of Baby Grace Blue" I highly recommend checking this out as it is a true ambitious peice of art. Initially, this was planned to be a 5 part album. An album was supposed to be released annually in an attempt to capture the feeling of the new century, and the late 90's. 2. Contamination was even recorded, but to do poor album sales and reception of "Outside" the entire plan was scrapped. Bowie released a jungle & bass style influenced album named, "Earthling" in 1997. Although the entire plans were never finished, I think this was an incredible album. (20 tracks is far to long though, Bowie acknowledged this, and it's the one of the main reasons it didn't succeed.) This was an idea far ahead of it's time, and there's too much information regarding the album for just one post. But if anybody is a casual Bowie fan or even respects artist value, than I definitely suggest this. Who else has listened to this album?
