    i think you guys need to think more critically about how and why a list like this exists. you could do a list of true newcomers, sure, but that's not going to keep a print magazine afloat the way this will. you need some stars, even if they seem obvious or safe, and you need guys with major label backing. this isn't about who the best unknown rappers are, it's about rounding up ten of the rappers most likely to go from b-list to a-list in the next 12 months. in that respect, it's not perfect, but it's nothing to complain about. (i say this as someone who didn't vote for this year's list.)
