Apr 6, 2019 That post was 50 percent troll / 50 percent true if you are talking about the most lurid claims perpetuated by the media (human soap etc). But instead of having an open mind and trying to understand what I meant by that, you always assumed the moral high ground and demonized me for having unpopular opinions. Censorship, suppression and demonization of political opponents/dissenters is your business, buddy, not mine. So like I said above, you're a hypocrite for making this post. And dude you are the perfect stereotype of a democratic partisan. You have exactly zero self-awareness lol
Apr 7, 2019 My rankings of candidates as of today 1. Bernie 2. Warren 3. Yang 4. Buttigieg 5. Gabbard The others offer no real clear vision and are from the Hillary and Obama camp. The 80s and 90s Democrats. The old guard. Neoliberals who are pro status quo, they compromise way too much and we end up with no significant change. We need fighters in office who stand up for working people of all races and aren’t afraid to piss off the status quo. No compromising with for profit health insurance companies and Wall Street. The five I mentioned can beat Trump. The others in the race would most likely lose.
Apr 7, 2019 Caveat though....all dem 2020 presidential nominees are better than the GOP + Trump/Pence. So I’ll be voting for whoever is the nominee in 2020. I take the pledge!
Apr 7, 2019 Why don't you just say what you really mean which is that you want Free Stuff. Your ranking Bernie #1 indicates as much.
Apr 7, 2019 Lol, the old “free stuff” schtick He wants to reallocate where our tax dollars go. Instead of corporations and the rich reaping all of the benefits of our current rigged system, he wants to spend tax $$ on the working class like FDR did. Nice try though, dum dum.
Apr 7, 2019 Imagine being part of the working class and defending our for the rich by the rich system of government @MrDrew you're too much
Apr 7, 2019 Actually, he wants to raise taxes on just about everybody. The government will then take an extra cut of that and the result is crumbs to the poor and an attack on everyone else, especially the middle class. It's childish and honestly moronic to think that subsidizing a bunch of impoverished people on the backs of hardworking Americans and f---ing up the economy is the only viable alternative to what you call the current rigged system. Have you looked at the situation in that wonderful paragon of socialism that is Venezuela recently? You look at Trump's tax plan, by contrast. It's basically a populist tax plan, with most of the help it's giving proportionally going to the working and middle class, as well as people who are on the margins of poverty. MAGA populism is a way bigger threat to the current system than socialism, which is why the corporate media and establishment are even more acerbic towards him than towards Bernie. If you think the nonstop negative coverage of the president over the past couple of years is normal, honest reporting, you haven't thought s--- through my friend. Wake up. Socialism destroys nations, populism doesn't.
Apr 7, 2019 Btw @Head Bussa, thoughts on Bernie bending the knee to the DNC? You know, the same DNC that rigged the primaries in Hillary Clinton's favor? The same DNC that embraces corporate donations, corporate welfare, big banks, and has told the working class that they're deplorable scum? Yeah, he's totally not a sellout dude. f--- outta here.
Apr 9, 2019 Just came by to say man you people are out of touch. Cop Kamala? She'll get beat worse than Hillary. It's Andrew Yang or Mayor Pete. Hopefully both on a ticket. If the DNC f---s it up for these two we deserve another 4 years of Trump.
Apr 9, 2019 oh gee, space monkey got banned again. what a pity. I disagree - though I do think you should be posting more! Take a look at this piece: https://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2019/04/08/upshot/democratic-electorate-twitter-real-life.html The party isn't nearly as left as the (mostly, online) noise makes it sound. There's absolutely room for a moderate, more traditional candidate to compete, win the primary and - yes - defeat Trump. Keep in mind, if a writer in Williamsburg or Silver Lake gets sad and wants to stay home, fine. We need to flip the ~x0,000 margin in like, Wisconsin. It's not insurmountable as long as we don't go overboard, imo.
Apr 9, 2019 If Beto, Biden, Kamala or Spartacus get the nomination and go on to defeat Trump I will PayPal you 500.00 the day after the 2020 Election. No strings attached. Bookmark this, save it, whatever- I'll happily oblige. I think it's going to take a combination of Yang, Buttigeg and/or maybe Sanders and I will stand by that. I do think Yang and Buttigeg will turn the primaries on their heads for the establishment candidates much like Trump did in 15. And that will be a good thing. Maybe this is all wishful thinking on my part and I can't see clearly but at the end of the day I just hope Dems are smart and learned from 16. If it's an establishment candidate and it's all about identity politics Trump will win by historic margins. I know you guys will disagree but... I was right in 2016.
Apr 10, 2019 I know, I get that instinct for sure... but the numbers don't fully tease it out. I do think you're right the trajectory now is for the New Thing... especially since elections are now a new form of reality TV or whatever. Obama was historically not qualified, and Trump felt like a punchline up until ....well, he still is. Buttigeg I generally like, I guess. Don't think a mayor should be president lol, and it gives me pause so many Republicans like Rush Limbaugh are crediting him. Their 'powder dry' approach on him and Bernie makes me think the general would be a full on character assault.
