    yeah @WPG this isnt your usual "mom the cops told us to stop skateboarding!!!" situation. deranged, military trained qanon follower was attempting to enter chambers and potentially hurt members of congress. like.... would police be justified killing a potential presidential assassin? thats the scope here, not the blm framing (which i agree with).

    (granted, details are still leaking out. but rn, this feels like, yeah dont break into the f---ing capitol and you wont die........."

    On the real though, while I wouldn't lose any sleep over someone who stormed the capital with a gun dying, I don't think it's that controversial of a take to not think people "deserve" to die. If these people are deemed fit to be executed just imagine what they'd do at BLM protests and such.

    When I was at a peaceful, 100% unarmed protest at the georgia capital building, the cops cornered us with riot shields to block off 3/4 exit routes and then tear gassed us out after less than a half hour of being there. Two days ago, the cops at the capital literally opened the gate and let armed people into the building.

    It was domestic terrorism and they came close to murdering elected officials. I don't know if I'd call any casualties there "state violence", but ok.

    Again, when his point was "they were just sad and angry, nobody got hurt" which - isn't factually true, the merits of discussing whether they deserved to die (most people who died probably did deserve it at that point) outweigh the cons of "cheering on state violence"

    i’m really responding to grimace saying “these people” deserved to die. is it understandable that the one woman gets shot and killed? sure. not disputing that. but he’s a guy who was very ready to talk about structural problems with policing this summer and now seems to be frothing at the mouth to crack skulls of people he doesn’t like.

    It was more than just his take that they "don't deserve to die" - as you can see in screenshots he was excusing the mob as "just sad and angry with the only intention being to disrupt the vote"

    I believe terrorists, insurrectionists and attempted coups should be met with force, yes. I also believe there are structual problems with policing throughout the country and unarmed black people don't deserve to be gunned down because a cop has an ego trip, yes.

    She wasn't killed by a cop that writes tickets. She was killed by a cop who protects people who get death threats everyday. She was ordered to leave the area and she didn't... because she thought if she could kidnap Mike Pence. Zombie JFK JR would make Trump President forever.

    I think we both can agree that cop didn't deserve to get his head caved in with a fire extinguisher

    i’m simply preaching caution because every time you line up to loudly say something like this you give the cops a mandate to k--- whenever *they* deem someone a terrorist. you and i don’t get to be the arbiters of that. they do.
