Apr 11, 2017 40 is still pretty decent, He can find and flip some nice samples, he just lacking on the drums. If you gave the same sample to someone like Wondagurl, she could probably make a beat 10x better. Everyone started copying his sound and started doing a much better job at it tbh.
Apr 11, 2017 That's why most of u didn't like views it's a 40 album with drake on it but I love 40 so I love it
Apr 11, 2017 You mean Wu Tang Forever or Own It? Wu Tang Forever was 40, Own It was Detail but co-produced by 40.
Apr 11, 2017 This 40 slander is ridiculous. Especially to go as far as to call him a hack in the thread title, but localize your gripes only with his ability as a producer (when he's so much more, a curator, a director, and exec-producer). He also has a catalogue of incredible beats. Repetitive sounds and stagnation do not warrant being called out as a hack.
Apr 11, 2017 Bruh, that argument is reserved for Dr. Dre who has classic after classic on his resume, not the guy behind Drake's abortion clinic of a discography.
Apr 11, 2017 He's a father of the new-Toronto wave. Whether or not it's good music (most of it isn't, but a lot of it is), the sound stems from his work.
Apr 11, 2017 this is true, but he's got telepathic chemistry with drake. forget where i read that one, but it's a good one.
Apr 11, 2017 @Flacko got goat avy and 40 did this one, whew. even tho it's exactly what BC saying in the OP, this s--- is beautiful.
Apr 11, 2017 So he helped Drake put out a bunch of mediocre projects and put on a bunch of nobodies. You were acting like it was blasphemy to disrespect him. Nobody would know his name without Drake. Nobody.
Apr 11, 2017 Yeah I actually also heard in some podcast (cant remember which one) that Drake only likes to record when 40 is in the studio with him too, they like brothers
Apr 11, 2017 Peep this On Working Exclusively with Drake: "That's my own personal prerogative. The Jamie Foxx record ["Fall For Your Type"] or Alicia Keys record ["Un-thinkable (I'm Ready) (Remix)"] I did, Drake wrote. The record I did for Trey Songz was a Drake song. The record I did for Wayne was for Drake at first but Wayne hijacked it. They're all related to Drake. I've never, thus far, gone outside of working with him. I'm a pretty loyal person and I feel like we have a lot of work to do and when we get an opportunity to rest and when I can go other places, I will, but thus far, I've focused on Drake and we just haven't stopped working, to be honest. When it comes to this project, one ended and the other started. So if Jay-Z or Alicia Keys is knocking on the door, I would work with anyone who wants to work with me and humbled by the opportunities I've received, but I've been stubborn to finish Drake's new album first. This is my responsibility and I take a lot of pride in that."
