    shoehorned concept executed poorly, boring sound, average bars, and a song about f---ing folding clothes and rapping about almond milk. so disappointing after FHD and the hype singles he released.

    I used to be a big cole fan but this album dropped him about 10 spots for me tbh

    Still haven't listened to one minute of this, and I'm a big Cole fan. FHD his best album, I didn't expect this to even come close to FHD when it dropped.

    It should've been executed better, I like the "concept" of him telling his dead friend's daughter what her dad did to provide for her father (even though it was only like 2-3 songs iirc), he has a problem with the monotone vocals he gives out and the same dry and boring beats he's on when he's singing which just sounds uninspired. I mean 4 Your Eyez Only was overhyped by Cole stans and it f---ing disappeared faster than J Cole's dad. He should work with other producers, I loved his production from The Warm Up to Forest Hills Drive but this album's beats just sounded like throwaways from his mixtape days, if he worked with other producers he would probably sound much better on different beats and maybe even focus more on his lyrics and flow rather than producing.

    I'm a huge Cole stan and I even agree it was a bit of a let down. I haven't listened to it that much compared to his other projects that I had on repeat.

    I think it's time Cole stops trying to be so independent and get some new producers and features for his next album. He's got nothing left to prove - everyone knows it's him, K. Dot and Drake running the game. Time to show us some crazy Collabs other than with just Dreamville artists

    A weak Bryson tiller remix and neighbors were the best songs on that album. His mixtapes and fan service projects (Any Given Sunday and Truly Yours) are great but with his albums they're always kinda "eh" for me. Sideline story was all over the place. It was like he was throwing s--- at the wall and seeing what stuck. I'm not particularly a big fan of Born Sinner but that's just me. 2014 FHD is a great project but 4YEO is an album you out on to play in the background or go to sleep to. It's not good at all. He's 1/4 on albums.
