Mar 23, 2017 Pretty much tells you everything known about the shooter. I think what's really being lost in this "war on terror" is the propaganda battle. ISIS is losing a lot of ground in the Middle East. Their last stronghold in Iraq (Mosul) has almost entirely been taken back by the Iraq Security Force. In Syria, U.S. forces and U.S. backed forces are preparing to launch an assault on their stronghold in Raqqa. Despite all this, they're still able to "execute" attacks in Western Europe and overseas. I put execute in quotes because they're not really executing anything. Their online propaganda is radicalizing citizens from western countries to commit domestic terrorism. More often than not, these lone-wolf attackers have never had any contact with ISIS or any terrorist organization.

These are the muslim equivalent of school shooters These sort of things are much harder to prevent than a carefully planned plot like the subway bombings or 9/11 I could literally jump in a van and plow through everyone along the beach tonight and police would be none the wiser
