Sep 23, 2017Even though Biggie wasn't as prolific as Tupac he actually has a lot of non-album verses, freestyles and deep cuts out there that are great and I feel like a lot of people actually haven't sought them out or heard them. I heard a lot of these the first time from the official Mr. Cee Biggie Smalls 10th anniversary mixtape, if you're a BIG fan I highly recommended finding this on the internet somehow its full of excellent stuff
So on to the list...here are 6 dope non-album Biggie verses and unreleased songs that you need to check out
1. Where Brooklyn At? Freestyle
One of the most legendary freestyles in history featured Biggie Smalls sharing a stage w/ Tupac among others sometime around 1993 before their beef had started...Biggie stole the show with his high energy verse that many regard to be one of the best in his entire career. I recommended searching for the full version with Pac's verse, too.
"I got 7 mac-11's, about eight .38's
Nine 9's, ten mac-10's the s----s never end
You can't touch my riches
Even if you had MC Hammer and them 357 b------s"
2. The Ugliest
One of Big's smoothest verses ever delivered over a classic Dilla groove. This was probably the bluntest Biggie ever directed violent lyrics at Tupac after he released Hit 'Em Up.
"By now you figure, he talkin bout that n-----
But your weak-a--- assumptions, lead led to dumpin
IV to pump-in, you're feeling something
Catch my drift, or catch my four-fifth lift
At least six inches, above project fences
Turn meat to minces, jokes turn to flinches
When I rain I drenches, cleared your park benches
Missed you by pinches, your talk is senseless
Actor needs chiropractor, for cracked jaw
Yes I rocked, your chatterbox
Dangerous you're not, I gets down
Twist your body round and round, upside down"
3. Road to Riches (Real n----s)
Big Poppa delivers three previously unheard verses over top of West Coast classic beats like "Nuthin' But a G Thang", Murder Was the Case" and "Gin & Juice". West Coast Biggie...listen ASAP. Some dope verses on this one.
"Got no love for the other side, f--- them tricks
any repurcussion, Junior MAFIA spit clips
All the times, Big Poppa kick the raw rhymes
Raw flows, and that's how it goes"
4. Think Big
An underappreciated rare BIG verse from 1995
"In the back room playing SEGA, Street Fighter II
I'm inviting you, bring your writing crew and they dopest rhymes
I get up in that a--- every time
Lyrically I'm, untouchable, uncrushable
Getting mad blunted in the 600
Benz, ask your friends who's the illest
Licking shots, n----s screaming "Biggie Smalls tried to k--- us"
5. 4 My Niggaz/Peeps
Another verse from a 1995 track, this time Biggie featured on a Red Hot Lover tone joint. This is one of those verses that is essential Biggie and wouldn't have felt out of place on Ready to Die.
"Introducing the black b------ from Bedrock
Guaranteed to make your head rock, tote glocks"
"The black nine hard to find MFer
After the rhyme press rewind MFer"
6. Young G'z
A track from Puff Daddy's 1997 album No Way Out...a long forgotten third Jay Z/Biggie collaboration. Track features these dons rapping over a smokey smooth soul beat and of course BIG goes on last and lays down some sexy mafioso bars.
"n----s wanna hit me, if they get me, dress my body in linen By Armani
Check it, my lyrical carjack, make your brains splat
High caliber gats is all I f--- with, now peep the rough s---
In my circumference, mad b------s, with mad lucci
Bulletproof vests under they Coogi
Spitting my Uzi, don't lose me, my trigga n----s represent
Driving dirty in J-30's gettin bent"
BONUS: Party & bs Freestyle
I'd hope most hip hop heads have heard BIG's first single Party and bs. Well, here BIG lays down the verses that would go on to be from the track Microphone Murderer. I think it fits better here.
"The microhphone murder, mass mayhem maker
B-I-G's on the mic, call the undertaker"
"The microphone I'm rippin, the burner got the clip in
Slammin emcee's like Scotty Pippen"
