May 19, 2018 Glad to see trump is going to start arming all teachers. It's about time. We are safer with guns then without. Bad guys will always be able to find guns. Just look at Russia, Germany, France, and the Middle East. No kids are gonna get out of line if we give teachers permission to s---t them.
May 19, 2018 If you knew upon purchase. There are gun owners who have guns for years before selling them off/gifting them to someone else. In most states, they can do that without having to conduct any type of background check. I’m a bit confused here, are you arguing that more guns correlates with less gun violence? There are instances of gun owners using firearms in self defense but statistically, whether you go country by country (industrialized countries in this case) or state by state, the more firearms, the higher rate of gun violence. Who’s disempowering law abiding citizens? Nothing i’ve suggested here or in any of the gun control debates would prevent law abiding citizens from purchasing firearms. I want more safety nets in place to insure gun owners are being responsible because clearly, given how many guns are circulating our streets now, they aren’t. This is entirely anecdotal though. I mean, if a firearm makes you feel more safe, so be it. That’s your right. When it comes to public policy, it should always be dictated by research & data. Gun owners statistically have higher suicide rates & are more likely to be a victim of gun violence. So this idea of, “its better to have it & not need it” doesn’t really hold up.

May 19, 2018 I hate when people say not to send thoughts and prayers when it actually helps those that are effected by the shooting. It can help with the grieving process. Not much we can do until we arm our teachers imo
May 19, 2018 That's not an argument for more gun control. Historically in this country more gun control coincides with more shootings. On the other hand a massive reduction in gun crime for almost a decade coincided with a drop in gun control.
May 19, 2018 Crime in general has fallen since the 90s, not just gun crime. As to why crime has been falling, there’s no indefinite answers. Researchers can’t find a clear link to anything. It’s likely a multitude of factors. Regardless, gun control has become more popular & prominenent in the last 50 years so this goes counter to your argument anyway.
