    Punting in the NFL and kicking in the AFL are two different skillsets entirely. The former prioritises distance, accuracy and hang-time as the three focal points, while the latter encompasses a whole raft of factors and is more varied.

    Even though you see lil guys roosting it 50m+ in the AFL, it doesn't mean that it'd be translatable to the NFL. There's a reason why only big guys from our sport were able to transition to the NFL like Ben Graham, Sav Rocca etc etc.

    To be fair, it's not about distance as much as hang time to let your players get down field. That and getting it close to the end zone without crossing it. My high school AA football team had guys who could do 50 yard punts as well. They are not the 1% of the 1% of the 1% that NFL punters are.
