Mar 2, 2021 Hows this album holding up for everyone? Its re entered my rotation with a vengeance recently, i cant stop listening. I think I might finally be ready to say this is actually better than Die Lit, although I still wish it was a little shorter.
May 11, 2021 Nearly 6 months later and I still feel this is easily his best project and up there with aoty for 2020
Jul 4, 2021 Same. Can’t believe how many nerds there are who still don’t like this album. I legit am baffled at how many Carti stans hate it. I understand it being jarring to a random person who’s uninitiated to Carti’s music it coming off Die Lit it feels like such a natural progression imo. He experimented and covered new ground while still retaining what made his first two albums great
Jul 5, 2021 No auto tune rapper has been this innovate since future and thug first changed the game tbh. It has so much replay value too. I never understood the hate at all, it seemed like a bit of a band wagon opinion. Album hit super hard from the first spin.
Jul 5, 2021 I disliked this album outside of a few songs (haven't listened to the deluxe) but like @Donkey Kong Country said it could just be because I never really heard much Carti stuff h--- I never even went down the rabbit hole of this kind of rap In general so the more experimental stuff might've thrown me even more off guard than it would've normally But what I'm really trying to say is..................... "Whole Lotta Mid"
Jul 5, 2021 You're relatively new to rap in general by your own admission and it's definitely not an accessible album even for long-time rap fans. I thought Carti's debut was garbage the first time I heard it but there was still something about it that made me go back to it and it grew on me. And then Die Lit and WLR were both instant classics for me.
Jul 5, 2021 I always said I'm new to rap but looking back on me saying that it kinda feels disingenuous cause I've been around and enjoyed some rap my whole life it's just I never dug into it enough to have a proper appreciation and knowledge on it I guess
Jul 5, 2021 Reminds me of the days when I used to think Future's albums were better than his mixtapes (this was right around Monster era) Then, shortly after, Monster clicked for me and I became a changed man.
Jul 5, 2021 I've had moments where I wasn't feeling a particular artist/group and then I hear one song I like from them and that one song somehow retroactively makes me like every other song of theirs lol
Jan 28, 2022 btw for anyone else who went to the Narcissist tour—some of the remixed WLR songs are being sold and will prob leak soon. They're hard as f--- and I've wanted cdq versions ever since I heard em live
Jan 28, 2022 also WLR still classic 10/10. Classic lyrics, classic hooks, classic production, classic mixing and mastering, classic flow, classic emotion
Jan 28, 2022 i listened to it again recently, it was better even. Some tracks i did not like before now i loved like Die4Guy. Game changer s---
Jan 28, 2022 WHOLE LOTTA h--- YEAHHHHH!!!!!! This album is great. I'm sad that the new comments weren't about a new music video for Teen X or something like that. I suppose that era is over. It was a great Christmas Gift after the s--- year that 2020 was as a whole, bewz.
Feb 1, 2022 i don't understand why you think the album was good at all. sure, carti was diverting from his normal style of rapping (transitioning from more hip-hop/mumble rap to emo/screamo rap) solidifying that he could be more than just a mumble rapper, but the album was just not good at all. if i'm being honest, the only song i liked on the entire album was vamp anthem, and i have listened to that song maybe 3 times.
