Nov 29, 2019 I remember 2015 when game managed to make hella people give a s--- about him again for a quick second with those 2 documentary albums. Shoulda retired right there.
Nov 29, 2019 im just curious what would u have wanted please tell me ? cheers. oh did it need more metro boomin and nick mira /murda beatz ?
Nov 29, 2019 update: the last track was my favorite because the album is over now. ...the last track was actually kinda solid tbh
Nov 29, 2019 Well me personally when I listen to an album I want to hear more than 1 not s--- song. Says he's born 2 rap, he's born 2 put a n----- to sleep this album.
Nov 29, 2019 d---... Reading these comments is disappointing. I was just about to listen to the album. And what's up with 24 songs? Game seriously needs to cut down on the number of tracks he puts on an album.
Nov 29, 2019 It's very very stale. Not much energy at all. Nothing like Jesus piece or RED. Needed much better production. Very disappointed.
Nov 29, 2019 I would have changed the fact this idiot c---- put 0 effort into an album to pay his legal fees
Nov 30, 2019 Game is corny and the majority of his discography (this included) is mid but I've always thought there's something endearing about his love for hip hop, for the legends, for his peers and for the culture that sets him apart. He often comes across way too strong but his passion is admirable and he's a decent enough writer/rapper with just enough charisma to carry him as far as he's come. A few highlights on this, 21 Savage absolutely murdered it, I really liked the Nas tribute and a few others. But otherwise just another Game record I probably won't be returning to any time soon.
Nov 30, 2019 Intro is nice No Smoke has a nice beat, but the song itself should've been on a mixtape. Not worthy of last album material. Five Hundred Dollar Candles is sloooooowwww...... I respect Dom Kennedy but he's always made music that's mostly too boring for me. Talented just not my style. The Light is better, I can tell why people are talking about the "boringness" of this album though. Carmen Elektra is not helping with a change of pace, but not bad. Might appreciate these 2 on first listen if the first 3 songs had more energy in them. The Red Cafe feature.... sigh...still too slow. The chorus is talking about f---ing her a--- to sleep, but this beat makes me want to put myself to sleep. Gold Daytonas I can f--- with, the "Get Money" sample is dope. First song I can say will be replayed a lot. West Side's alright. First song with some high energy on this. Beat sounds like he sampled Tetris. 40 Ounce Love suffers from a non-inspiring beat that belongs as a Jesus Piece leftover. Lyrically not bad though. Gucci Flip Flops... more slooooow beats... lyrically sounds like another song on here Born 2 Rap (song) has a beat that sounds like old Kanye which is great... this one's a keeper. But still... the conscious-slow beats is killing me. Welcome Home is great too. Take out Gucci Flip Flops and 40 Ounce love I may appreciate these more. b---- wtf is this interlude? Sly go back to the Detox vault bro, this ain't working for me. Marsha collab is good, will not top Why You Hate The Game but it'll pass for another play. The Code FINALLY brings some needed higher energy back on this album. 21 Savage was great on this. Stay Down is a no for me... too much of the same type of song Hug The Block is a personal record, I can appreciate it. Don't know how often it'd get played though Ask For Me has the sound I've been looking for. The fast-piano s--- is right up my alley. This is my favorite so far. Stainless is ok, the Picture me Rollin sample doesn't bore me like 60% of the beats on here Gangsta Make The Girls Go Wild is NOT bad. Chill without being a snorefest Blood Thicker Than Water, is again sounding like another song on here that is too slow. Lyrically good, but this song has def been made by Game before Rewind II is pretty good... I have a feeling some of you skipped this because of the 12+ sleepy records. If you make it to this one, it's unique with a simplistic yet good paced beat and flow. Too short though!!!!! One Life got a One Life To Live show intro sounding a--- beat at the beginning... but it doesn't stay soap opera jazzy lmao. Ok but idk about album worthy. Cross On Jesus Back is cool, but D Smoke sounds like young Kendrick. This belongs on Jesus Piece, will prob get replay value even though beat is very uninspiring because it's lyrically pretty good. Roadside is fantastic, Ed Sheeran did not dissapoint and just stuck to singing which is a big plus. Acoustic guitar beat is great and Game's verses are perfect on it. Overall, not a horrible album but the main style Game went for is not appealing to me because it gets repetitive and uninspiring. The best songs are keepers and are some of the best Game's ever made, for a final album though, he could've done better with his resources
Nov 30, 2019 Hug the block and the code are the only songs i have replayed over and over again although i narrowed the album down to 13 tracks the light starting the album off
Nov 30, 2019 ive always thought Game could rap his a--- off but theres a theme of issues I have with his albums. the godamn features. this man can barely do a song by himself. when he previewed that song mentioning Kim, I was hoping it was going to be an aggressive album. songs like (ricky, red nation, the city, bigger than me, F.U.N, savage lifestyle, true colors, bompton,on me etc) that roadside song was done in 2013. its a pretty soft album. I just wish hed do an album like 92 again with little to no features and rap. I guess nipseys death changed his direction? thought that was a reason he pushed it back and started changing things. west side is a cool song but idk, not what I was wanting and doesn't fit the title for born 2 rap. but he lost that 7 mil lawsuit he aint done rapping. rarely does anyone retire.
Dec 1, 2019 After more listening, like @relapse 2 I can play 13 out of 24 tracks at least more than once. This ratio of good/bad is the worst out of any Game album though, with that said despite the best songs on this overall, this is probably the worst if not 2nd. LAX has a lot of forgettable songs too... hmm... 1. Doctor’s Advocate 2. The Documentary 3. Documentary 2 (2nd disk) 4. 1992 5. Jesus Piece 6. Documentary 2 (1st disk) 7. R.E.D. Album (could’ve been a LOT better) 8. LAX/Born 2 Rap
