Marginal tax rate & it only applies to those making tens of millions of dollars a year. How is that sickening at all?

Taxing people after their 10 millionth dollar in income at 70% isn’t sickening at all to me. This would apply to .05% of the U.S. population. People widely misconstrue this with taking away 70% of their income, that’s not what this is.

I’m the first to say no system is perfect, but i lean towards Libertarianism because precisely respects individual freedom. You can do whatever you want to do as long as it doesn’t hurts other people, the golden rule. So a Racist doesn’t fit the description

And yeah, i support Drug -not only weed- decreminalization as well as prostitution and some other things.

No system can be implemented 100% because we have to be realistic but this makes more sense to me instead of being under an goverment who legally f---s people, specially Middle Class and Poor, everyday.

I refuse to give more power to power

Man prostitution is the oldest profession in the world and it will exist forever. I believe we would reduce risk of diseases and violence in the streets if its decreminalized, people get prostitutes on the streets with all kinds of infections.

A legal and controlled business of prostitution its better, there would be periodic checks up and everything to protect customers and women offering the service, and HEY govt could make a buck from taxes. But ive never hired a prostitute lol but hey each to its own

    Thanks for that tho

It’s all about reallocation of our tax dollars

AOC wants it to go to healthcare, education and improving the environment. Basic human rights that all other modern counties have.

Conservatives support tax cuts for the rich which blow up the deficit, no education or health programs for regular folks, massive amounts of corporate welfare, deregulation of Wall Street and cut clean water and air regulations. For the working class my a--- lol

Libertarians want no taxes at all, which means no government funding of roads, bridges, school or any funding of any programs at all. Aka Somalia. Good luck with that. Greed is good in their eyes. f--- the government for trying to give people the bare essentials!

The US is the richest nation in the history of the world and we have a horrible healthcare system, we treat the environment like s---, medical bills and student loan debt are out of control. But regular folks still defend this system. A solid 35% of the country are useful idiots to the corporate, elite class and don’t want things in place that benefit their lives. They’d rather defend the rich and continue to be screwed by people with big wallets.

The same as now following the current federal tax brackets. What Ocasio-Cortez is proposing is an additional tax bracket for the ultra-wealthy. Every dollar you make after $10 million will be taxed at 70% while the first $10 million dollars you make will be taxed at the various current levels (37%, 35%, 32% etc.). Under Republican President Eisenhower, the top marginal tax bracket for the ultra wealthy was 91%! Under Regan, the top bracket was 50%. Right now, it’s only 37%. People making $550,000 a year are getting taxed at the same percentage as some individuals who make 10x that.

How many millions would they have to give to the federal government if they pulled in $20 million? I know it’s easy to be jealous and think those people shouldn’t have all that money, but it is definitely not fair. They need to use their millions to make more millions. 37 percent of 20 million is still much much more than 37 percent of 500k. It’s just jealousy.

Typical @Enigma and his liberal ways wanting to take money off hard working people who’ve done good for themselves. Just because you’ve done f--- all with your life doesn’t mean you have the right take money off people who’ve done better than you buddy.

Oh yeah, Mitt Romney really works hard by sitting on his a--- and making $$ off investments and ends up paying a lower tax rate than working class people. Or pampered trust fund babies Meghan McCain, Paris Hilton, Trump family, etc...these folks don’t work harder than dentists, plumbers, construction workers, nurses, etc....

Tax the rich who already well off, take the burden off working class people and provide basic healthcare for everyone. It’s not hard to grasp. Every other modern nation has figured it out except us.

I’m all for a meritocracy but you can’t talk about fairness when we all start from absurdly different starting points. People are asking for equal opportunity not equal results. Class mobility is plummeting in the US and the rich are hoarding power/resources.

My best guess is ~$10 million in federal taxes? We’re talking marginal tax rates here though so this is before any type of deductions & loopholes that rich people undoubtedly take advantage of. So in actuality, they’d probably pay millions less than this. Remember though, it’s a progressive tax system we have. No one is paying 37% tax on all their income. If we stay consistent with the hypothetical scenario we’re talking about: income of $20 million & top bracket of 70%, $9,499,999 of that income would be taxed at 37%.

    Uhhhh

Propaganda is a h--- of a drug. The fact that working class people defend the s-----y system the elites have rigged strictly in their favor is mind boggling.
