Opposite actually. You guys are so jealous of rich people that you think they should have to give up a ridiculous amount of their earnings. You are the selfish ones. You’re bitching about a system that treats people unfairly, yet your solution is to treat fortunate people unfairly. Pretty s-----y.

Wouldn’t call it jealousy. I’d call it being fed up of rich dudes worth hundreds of millions of dollars not paying their workers a living wage & reaping a vast majority of the benefit from their production. Then using all that capital to bribe our “representatives”/leaders to giving them tax cuts so they can go buy their 5th compound in the Bahamas, meanwhile healthcare/education/infrastructure is diminishing across the country. Requiring people who are *literally* set for generations to pay more in taxes is in no way shape or form unfair. Their great grandkids won’t ever have to worry about missing a meal meanwhile we have war veterans homeless & starving in the streets.

Lower tax rates for the top 1% is bad for the US economy and it adds to the National Debt.

If wanting to increase taxes on the rich so your grandkids can have healthcare & be able to go to college without taking on thousands of dollars of debt makes me jealous then f--- it lol. I’m jealous af. It’s for the greater good. Jeff Bezos isn’t going to suffer if he has to sell a few of his mansions.

Like I said before... Bezos will never have to sell a mansion because of taxes.

Mark Cuban bought the most opulent ridiculous beach house in California in December of 2018 for $19 million.

Bezos made $20 million an hour last year.

Bezos is far beyond buying material things with his money.

Giving billionaires and multimillionaires tax breaks has just taken US currency out of circulation and squeezed Americans more.

It's getting harder and harder to hide that... pretty soon Tucker Carlson will be saying everything AOC says except kinda racist.

The financial collapse came from banks lobbying the government to relax regulstions... then the banks lent ARM loans to people that shouldn't have qualified by lying to the government.... then they created CDO's which were faulty financial devices based on the banks lies and fraud... then they created synthetic CDOs which were more financial devices that were based on the fraudulent CDOs.

The collapse happened because the government regulation was neutered and then the government was scammed by capitalist. .. had nothing to do with taxes.

Then he said 1950 was the best time for America because of the tax structure.

The top 1% was taxed at 90% in 1950... so he would have been taxed way more because the government was actually way more powerful and taxed way more in 1950 then in 2011... the opposite of what he is telling these people.

He is just lying because these people weren't very savvy and were just victims of the Recession that was caused by capitalism and a weak government and social safety net.

Peter Schiff is a small time blow hard in the grand scheme of things... he loves talking about being in the 1%... basically every dude who plays in the NBA is worth more than him... he isn't Warren Buffett.

The early 2010s were so funny to me when the 1%ers were just lying constantly to deflect responsibility.

They acted like Obama invented taxes and was a hardcore socialist... when he was center right if anything.

Then they would lie about the 50's like it was some capitalist utopia... the fact of the matter was in 1950 the 1% was taxed at 90%... the workforce was 40% union and the pay ratio for Executive to worker was hundreds of times closer than it is now... it was socialism for white people and 2nd class citizenship for non-white people.

Peter Schiff is a rainmaker.... he'll tell you "give me $50 and I'll make it rain tomorrow."... if you give him the $50 and it rains... you think he made it rain... if it doesn't rain.... he'll ask for $100 and promise to try harder this time.

He was predicting a Recession because of "hyperinflation and government interference and what he considers"high" taxes"... the Great Recession happened because of the lack of Government oversight... during a time of low taxes and normal inflation... which actually lead to very low inflation when people realized that there was no where near as many dollars as the bankers were pretending there was.

He was basically wrong about everything and went around posturing like a wise sage and demanding that he should pay less taxes to people who lost their houses and life savings because of dumb assholes like him while he gets basic facts wrong.

Omg I f---ing love her. The way she deals with the right wing is perfect. And she's moving the overton window for real with the 70% marginal tax rate proposal. She's queen

There’s nothing selfish about wanting better schools, infrastructure, and for everyone to make a living wage.

Maybe it’s “unfair” that everyone doesn’t get taxed the same, but is it not also “unfair” that not everyone has access to good transportation, a good education, and a wage that allows them to live comfortably?

If we have to pick between two “unfair” scenarios, I’d choose taxing people who have more money than they know what to do with any day of the week, regardless of how they made their fortune. At the end of the day, they’ll still be unfathomably rich.

Whenever I argue about this, I openly argue that I want an unfair tax system. I want the rich paying a fuckton higher % than everyone else. It's not moral at all for a single human to have so much money while people are in poverty. Maybe if we find a way for no one to be in poverty and the rich not pay more I could be fine but until then f--- them. Also, even if rich people paid a 90% marginal tax rate, they would still be rich and be fine lol
