Honestly I was a little disappointed, for hardcore Pac fans there probably won't be a lot there. It covers all the basics, but not much else and doesn't give you much of a feel for Pac the person.

You also don't feel nearly as connected to Pac's character as you should be, and there's a few instances where it seems forced or awkward..There's also a few instances where Pac flat out looks like a p----, which wouldn't be the case in real life.

Demetrius did the best job he could and there's some good scenes and other good acting as well, but I don't know...it just didn't really make a huge mark on me. Some ladies behind me were talking loud as f--- throughout half the movie, maybe that threw me off too, I don't know..I might even see it again, catch a few things I missed..But it was nothing amazing.

7/10 I guess, maybe 8/10 tops if I'm feeling generous. Covered the basics and did alright all things considered, but didn't really make the impact it should have and they should have shown more behind the scenes type stuff..It also felt rushed at times.

Issue with projects like this is its hard to recapture a figure like pacs charisma. Especially when he's still so present in pop culture.

Kind of like how sometimes traditional biopics on musicians falter -- how do mimic a once in a lifetime stage personality ?

They should've cast the same Pac for Notorious, Straight Outta Compton and this and made it one long gangsta rap miniseries

I watched the advanced screening last night and I liked it when I walked out, I thought they just about covered every major moment in pac's life, why they wanted a deathrow east etc. but the day after I realised that even though its a 2 and a half hour movie they really missed some key pieces to his life and kinda highlighted the controversy in the media more than anything else. the acting wasn't really that bad. It definitely needs to be a 3+ hour movie or tv series. it's way better than notorious though.

Indeed. It always comes off as a cheap imitation.

But anything will be better than the 2Pac that was portrayed in notorious..

Since I'm a huge Pac fan I already know there's gonna be a few things that annoy me or that I don't think were done well such as some of the things I mentioned last page, but overall I'm expecting to really like it.

Demetrius seems to do a great job as Pac according to what pretty much everyone said. Plus it'll probably be one of the last big Pac related things we ever get. I'm excited that I finally get to see it today. :emoji_thumbsup:

He was the one I stanned during my high school days (was a backpacker fan and only f----- with 90s rap).

    :wow2:

I even have his poetry book The Rose That Grew From Concrete

The film is scheduled to go into production in December.

The Tupac Shakur biopic All Eyez On Me is scheduled to go into production in Georgia next month. A listing appears on the state's Entertainment Help Wanted Hotline saying that production company Morgan Creek is taking resumes for all crew positions.

Last week, Morgan Creek was sued by production company Emmett Furla Oasis for breach of contract. Emmett Furla said that Morgan Creek gave them the authority to approve all production decisions on the Tupac biopic, but created a new budget, met with distributors and chose a lead actor without its consent. Morgan Creek is denying that the role of Tupac has been cast.

Tupac was portrayed by Marcc Rose in the N.W.A biopic Straight Outta Compton.

All this negative press for the movie makes me not wanna see it. :wow2:

I'll eventually go and see it though and probably be disappointed.

It's definitely better than that one, at least for me.

Not better than straight outta Compton though.

I'm not much of a movie connoisseur so I can't give it a proper objective review, but I was entertained...but I do see why it isn't garnering the acclaim a Pac Biopic deserves.

There's not a lot of breathing space and it tries to cram a whole lot in, I had to explain every part to my cousin since there wasn't much depth in the movie. It's understandable, Pac's life is honestly such a roller coaster that it's difficult squeezing in every major detail but I feel they didn't know how to do it properly. Just my 2 cents, but boy does his music knock even after all these years. Still had to hold back tears anytime I hear Dear Mama :mjcry:

Bout to go see this in a bit, it is a bit discouraging to see the disappointment surrounding this release especially when you consider it's about such a massive legacy like Pac.

I'll share my thoughts when I come back

LTTG and Pac's life are 2 of the worst of the posthumous releases imo, probably the worst if you don't count the remixed bs.

For posthumous albums I like until the end of time, better dayz, still I rise and r u still down.

Anyways young noble of the outlawz posted an interesting letter on the outlawz twitter about all the behind the scenes bs about this movie and Pac's estate. He also said John Singleton got fired from this movie, he didn't quit. Said John got fired cuz he was gonna make a scene with Pac getting r---d in jail, and also was gonna make Afeni a lesbian lol.. so definitely glad they got rid of him..

New trailer just dropped, Pac and Suge's voices sound a little off to me, I'll get used to that. But f--- I'm so hyped for this movie still. Trailer looks good.
