    yeah, this. would also say I think this "sound" is what everyone is migrating to. the "yeezus" sound.

    there's soo many artists gravitating towards it. between sean, travis, drake, tyga.. but really don't see the big deal at all. he's cleary close with travis anyways.

    @Skippy gotta commend your effort bro! It's certainly a possibility since as some have mentioned already hip-hop has always been about combining or blatantly biting styles/trends. Makes more sense since they are from the G.O.O.D Music camp, Kanye definitely ingrains that notion that it's ok to be influenced by others.

    I don't think you can say that for certain because their albums were being developed at the same time, but Ye definitely brought Travis on for a reason.

    You're right. It just seems like such a drastic 180 in sound on Kanye's part happens to come right after he signs Travi$ who then goes onto co produce nearly the whole album should be a pretty big indicator that Travis had the bigger impact.

    Do people really enjoy Travis as a rapper? His production is pretty nice, he both makes and chooses good beats, but the praise for his rapping feels like some big running joke that I'm just not in on.

    Like, it's funny how out of touch some of y'all are with actual rap fans. Other than backpackers and suburban Eminem stans, no one really gives that much of a s--- anymore when it comes to technical lyricism. Like, not that it's unimportant, but today's youth is better at actually enjoying the, y'know, music; rather than whining that the lyrics don't read like a college essay

    It's just the blatant plagiarizing of it all. You're telling me you wouldn't be mad if you were Travis? Like, you burst onto the scene with a whole new style that's so good Kanye uses it and tweaks it for his album, and then this n----- Big Sean comes and just straight jacks your beats your ad libs your sound your whole style... That's some bs. I still like Sean and think he's good, but it just bugs me that he took my favorite style and made it less unique and more gentrified

    Well then how can you call Travis' lyrics a joke lol

    I like Keef but his whole shtick is the fact that he's perpetually off beat. And his lyrics are somehow less skillful than Travis', not tryna throw shade I just don't see how you can call one a joke and have another be your favorite
