Starz’s adaptation of Neil Gaiman’s critically-acclaimed novel, American Gods, will premiere on April 30, the network confirmed today.

The series, which is being executive produced by Bryan Fuller (Hannibal, Pushing Daisies), follows two opposing factions of a brewing war: a younger set of gods who believe in materialistic pleasures, sex, drugs and embrace a modern sense of self, and members of the old guard.

The show stars Ricky Whittle (The 100) as Shadow Moon, an ex-con who’s hired by a member of the old gods, Mr. Wednesday (Ian McShane), to protect him as he tries to build an army to take on the younger gods.

Starz first announced that it was going ahead with the adaptation of Gaiman’s 2001 novel on June 6, 2015. Since then, the network has released a teaser trailer for the show and a couple of photos, but it’s been relatively quiet. Fuller, who was originally going to oversee American Gods and Star Trek: Discovery on CBS, recently departed the latter project to devote his full attention to American Gods.

The series also stars Gillian Anderson (The X-Files), Emily Browning (Suckerpunch), Pablo Schreiber (Orange is the New Black), Kristin Chenoweth (Pushing Daisies) and Jeremy Davies (Lost).

American Gods will premiere on April 30 at 9 p.m. ET on Starz.
