Jan 17, 2015 The movie hasn't been out a month, it came out yesterday for most places in the US. Maybe it leaked online or something I don't know, but f--- that. I watch the movies I want to see in theaters. Spoiler I was pretty sure he died at the end but I wasn't positive until I read that guy's post a few days ago, I was also pissed at him for saying it. As I was leaving the theater today, 2 others joined my dad and I's conversation about it and mentioned they had no idea he died, so no it's certainly not true that everyone already knew he died. Can't believe he did 4 tours and then died at home, crazy. Felt like I was leaving a funeral not a movie at the end with everyone filing out super quiet and no music or anything playing once the credits started rolling. Amazing movie though and very well done, no complaints from me. I also heard that the real Chris Kyle's 1st choice for a director was Clint Eastwood so it's cool that he got his wish there.
Jan 19, 2015 While I've heard a lot of rumors about Chris Kyle being a sack of s--- (even in the movie, he seemed like he would be), this was still a great movie. The theater was silent through the credits until we left the building. It was almost like attending a Spoiler funeral.

Jan 19, 2015 within the first 5 minutes the audience is taught that, a woman in a scarf AND her offspring are our "enemies." and they must be killed Lol what the f---? *small spoiler ahead although I think it was in the teaser trailer too* Maybe it had to do with the woman having a bomb and not how she looked or the scarf she was wearing? Jesus lol. I don't know why people are getting so pissed at this movie, keep in mind the real Chris Kyle was responsible for telling them what happened too(from his book) and his wife as well, so I'm sure most of what was seen in the movie was accurate. I didn't watch the movie and think 'all muslims are bad' or anything like that, and I don't really see how others did either. Does race or religion have to be brought into everything? God d---.. Thought it was a great movie.
Jan 20, 2015 I think a lot of people need to read up about Chris Kyle, and get an understanding of who he was, before judging anything in this film. By most accounts the film is an accurate portrayal, as told by those close to Chris Kyle (2nd hand stories), and through the words of Chris Kyle himself. -I've seen quite a few people who have a problem with the films use of the word "savages" in reference to the Iraqi people. Chris Kyle himself used that term to describe them in his book of the same title (American Sniper). Therefore that is direct to the character of Chris Kyle. -Kyle is credited by the U.S. with some 160 kills (He claimed the number to be upwards of 255), and is quoted as saying he wishes he had killed more. -He was known to exaggerate/completely embelish stories. Claiming to have punched Jessie Ventura (A claim with literally zero proof, that cost his estate over a million dollars in a court settlement to Ventura). He claimed to have shot and killed two men who attempted to steal his truck at a gas station in January 2009. News outlets attempted to verify the claim, and there were no reports of two men being shot on the alleged day, at or near any gas stations in the area, or surrounding areas of where the claim took place. He claimed to have shot and killed roughly 30 "bad people" who were causing trouble in the wake of Hurricane Katrina in New Orleans. Another claim, that could not be verified. Chris Kyle was an amazing sniper. That is a fact, and that is what this movie set out to glorify, which it did its job fantastically. But, as I said earlier in the thread, I felt like this film tried too hard to protect Chris Kyle, and who he was within our (U.S.) borders.

Jan 21, 2015 I went to see it with a buddy of mine who has PTSD from fighting in iraq.....it obviously brought up some emotions for him, he barely said a word on the ride back. I thought the movie was well done and a good story.
