Jan 21, 2015 Yeah Michael Moore is a piece of s---. I wish I could k--- that fa----. Seth Rogan said something about the movie too but I forgot what it was...
Jan 22, 2015 It's was a great movie the trailers tried to make it look like hurt locker with the tension .not Eastwoods fault more so of the studio try a try a sell tickets... but the movie was great watching what this guy had to go through & what's really like there is amazing... and cooper is going to be around for a long time
Jan 22, 2015 a lot of inaccuracies, decent-ish movie. they make no effort to mention why they went to war, and made it look like the sole reason they went to Iraq was because of 9-11. yikes also, in his book, there was no child in the opener. only a woman with the grenade rly propaganda-y
Jan 23, 2015 The movie wasn't about the war. It was about one person in the war, and his perception being there.
Jan 23, 2015 To be fair, he goes to join the Seals before 9/11, and they had no reason to include every reason on why they went to war. The 9/11 attacks is the most well known of the reasons why.
Jan 23, 2015 Seth Rogen tweeted about how it was like the sniper propaganda movie in Inglorious Basterds.
Jan 23, 2015 I started reading the book, I'm about 200 pages in and it's f---ing great. Definitely would recommend.
Jan 23, 2015 Spoiler: SPOILER Okay, so after my initial comments in the thread, I still decided to go and see the movie. It is a good film in the way it was shot and the acting etc. (Sublime performance by Cooper). The storyline has to be taken with a pinch of salt though. It was pure and simply Hollywood brainwashing / scaremongering / propaganda. It made it clear from the outset that anyone and everyone who was not in American military uniform was an enemy. Even before the woman with the child was seen to have the bomb, Chris Kyle was locked on a ready to s---t her. The fact that it only briefly touched on the severity of PTSD was disgraceful too. It would have been the perfect platform to promote awareness for something very real - instead it exploited it as something that is easily bypassed. 7 Big Lies "American Sniper" is Telling America
Jan 23, 2015 Spoiler The PTSD thing bothered me too. I would have liked them to have at least took 15-20 minutes to get into Routh's backstory leading up to when Kyle, and Littlefield took him to the range. But, people are ignoring the fact that the movie isn't about the war, or PTSD, or anything other than Chris Kyle. It's about him, and his single handed affect on the war, and his mental transition between his time there, and when he returned home, told mostly by Kyle himself, and the people around him. Viewing whoever as an enemy was a direct look into Kyle's mindset. He wrote a book, that was used in preparing the film, that made it very clear what he thought of the "savages" (His terminology). Never did anyone claim the film had anything to do with views on the war outside of Chris Kyle, as an individual participant.
Feb 4, 2015 Of course he's gonna be locked on and ready to s---t her though, they're at war. They're gonna be locked on and ready to s---t anyone who could potentially be a threat, be it man, woman or child.
Feb 8, 2015 SPOILERS i saw it, besides the s-----y military hoorah bs at the beginning (basically the entire part between him breathing to s---t the kid) was uneeded but the story after he shot the kid was good. I enjoyed it, i wont mention the lack of quality based off of the baby scene or the s-----y lack of politcal inclusion.
