    Its not as much as THIS WHAT GOD FEEL LIKE. Many artists couldve made the exact same song and it wouldn't be worse. Can't say the same for HMADC. Its funny to think about it like that but its not a literal hobo transformation its an existential crisis

    God sounds, feels, IS triumphant. It's not attempting any sort of complex hidden meaning. One of the reasons I think it succeeds is because Kendrick isn't that great of a singer, but it doesn't matter because the song sounds so overcoming. I can't really imagine another rapper's take on this song that could make it turn out better.

    I can, however, imagine dozens of rappers making a song like HMADC. It tries to teach some sort of lesson, but ends up being this preachy, surface-level song with a "twist" that could have been written in a 10th grade creative writing class. Kendrick's made so many better songs than this one.

    I agree somewhat but I can apply the first paragraph to Real too. Im just not a big fan of the song in the context of d---. It seems inferior and out of place

    Kendrick's whole discography are "classics" so

    ALL of them are highly rated, critically acclaimed by "critics" and fans alike

    anyone who hates on these albums or Kenrick in general wants to be a little edgy c----
