And at that point Death Grips weren't that inaccessible to him anymore for him, so yeah he'll gloss it over it because that isn't the case anymore. And when you're reviewing anything subjective like music, movies, TV, etc., there's automatically going to be personal biases of a critic. If anything these biases make up that critic's personality and makes them enjoyable to listen/watch/read. If you want unbiased reviews, you just want someone to describe the sounds without giving any insight on what they think about the sounds. That isn't really something a critic does. And even if I disagree with Fantano, he usually brings up good points and backs up his opinions fairly well (not always mind you, but for the most part this is the case). Jul 21, 2015 You entirely missed the point, I only used honest because it was relevant to the topic and I used death grips as a counterpoint to show I even disagree when he positively reviews things I like Ofc u can have an opinion on things and slant them a certain way but his entire thing is he cherry picks what aspects he speaks on to fit whether or not he liked it, he's incapable of seperating his likes from actual critical thinking For instance, owl Pharaoh is one of my favorite projects, but I'm capable of saying technically I'd give it roughly a 6 or so because appealing to me doesn't justify skewing the facts of what's actually happening sonically. Fantano is incapable of matching the level of critical thinking that I, some random on the Internet, am capable of. That's sad tbh

Jul 21, 2015 like, i'm not going out of my way to watch his reviews or anything (cause I rly don't care what any critic has to say generally, it's all irrelevant), but i wouldn't see what the big deal is about them. he gives his opinion, he says why, end of. no other critic is truly doing anything different and if you honestly think they are then you're a pretentious twat. think this whole 'f--- fantano' thing is just a lot of bitching simply because people don't agree with a lot of his opinions and the way he articulates them.
