Jun 29, 2017 Serotonin syndrome isn't really caused by ADHD meds because ADHD meds target just the dopamine don't they? Anti depressants on the other hand directly target serotonin so anti depressant abuse or taking seratonin drugs like ecstasy while on anti depressants can cause seratonin syndrome. But that's actually a much more serious condition than just feeling s-----y. OP would've been hospitalised by now lol. I also don't think it's what theg went through because while anxiety can be triggered by your mind overthinking things, falling genuinely s-----y or depressed is hard to 'trigger' unless you're genuinely feeling s-----y at that moment Seems to me that the lexapro isn't really doing it's job anymore
Jun 29, 2017 Yeh I'd tried a bit if research prior to posting here but there's not much. It's mainly just mums wondering why their 6yo is hyper and other really vague s---
Jun 29, 2017 @theg do you find whether you've eaten or not influences the effect? Cos i normally have it on an empty stomach cos its early and i hate brekky but today i ate around the time i had it and rn i feel pretty f---in wired
Jun 29, 2017 Like i took it then had some baked chicken ball things like 20mins after cos I'm a bit hungover and it def feels a lot more intense than usual
Jun 29, 2017 Not really but honestly I dont eat on it at all before or after. I find that once you take it (and again im on ritalin so idk how your medication feels or works) if you just dive right into something as you're waiting for it to kick in it keeps your mind off of the negative possible side effects they don't really seem to affect me. Idk though its a different situation, after googing a few of my symptoms for a few hours I found other people suffering the breathing problems and saw it was a mental thing and that helped me put it out of my mind. Idk what to tell you tbh other than just keep searching for people who have the same kind of effects. Like I said, maybe it's mental and your brains just preparing to feel like s--- so it makes the rest of you feel like s---. Idk, maybe try another ADD drug or something but im far from a doctor so I'd discuss it with them.
Jun 29, 2017 interesting..i actually get weird comedown’s with 30mg adderall jawns it’s kiiinda hard to explain but i always get this feeling of depression but it’s not like your usual depression. i’m in this weird state where it feels like i’m in the twilight zone and life is half real. in a sense, I almost feel comfortable though. comfortably depressed.
Jun 29, 2017 Tbh since we've discussed this it really hasn't been that bad at all. What I really think has happened (which is basically what you suggested) is they made such a great effect to my life that I've almost associated them as basically happy pills and the first time I've genuinely felt s--- my minds just got the thought stuck in my head that maybe its my meds and it's just snowballed from there. It's definitely been better after this thread. It's a bit annoying though because I'm being more aware of it it's like when you've been told not to think of something and it's all you think of sorta thing ha, but it's definitely improved. Who knows maybe I just had a rough couple weeks and my body was just run down a bit from some partying.
Jun 29, 2017 yeah, definitely. but i’ve experienced that since like the beginning and not 3 months in like you but it’s definitely a hollow-ish feeling
Jun 29, 2017 Nah I reckon I've had that from the start occasionally too but I just sort of copped it, like it's not like depressing sort of so it doesn't bother me. Like you're not depressed but you're not happy it's like a real extreme form of indifference sort of but because it's such an intense like average emotion it's weird. Is that sort of what you mean?
Jun 30, 2017 I thought it affected both serotonin and dopamine, but I might be wrong. Either way, stimulants tend to make people moody (esp after prolonged use) and I'm sure the anti-depressants come into play too.
Sep 24, 2017 idk if it bothers you enough but if it does you can get some dry mouth gel at the pharmacy they're supposed to help keep your mouth moist throughout the day
Sep 24, 2017 It's not too bad, I mean at work I'm sitting at a desk all day drinking from a water bottle. If I didn't have access to that it'd definitely be an issue but I;m never far away from a drink.
