Jan 20, 2021 Fat Joe: "That man was so exceptional. I remember when Eminem’s first album came out, we were in LA for Grammys and me and Big Pun waited on line. And Pun was nominated for two Grammys, and he was double platinum and me and him literally, physically waited on line at the Tower Records to buy Eminem’s album at Sunset Boulevard." Reading this, to me it seems that this is the utmost respect and recognition anyone could get as far as legacy in rap goes. Imagine a '99 Eminem/Big Pun track...
Jan 20, 2021 I remember reading an article back then regarding Eminem. Forgot which magazine it was but Em said something to the effect of “I want to start a Fat f--- clothing line for the Big Pun in you”. I don’t know if that quote ever got back to Pun or not. I remember it because of how disrespectful it was to Pun. I also know that Em sent flowers to Pun’s funeral. I don’t know what Em thought of Pun or vice versa (outside of this apparent Joe quote).
Jan 20, 2021 I assume he respected him as an MC obviously and wanted to get on a track with him maybe to see who will outrap the other? I don't know, Remy Ma said that Big Pun really wanted to get on a song with Eminem, that's what I draw conclusions from: https://www.revolt.tv/news/2020/9/16/21440384/remy-ma-big-pun-goal-work-with-eminem
