Oct 20, 2015 http://routenote.com/blog/3-months-in-apple-music-had-6-5-million-subscribers/ Apple chief executive Tim Cook said Apple Music has 6.5 million paying subscribers with 15 million total users. At the Wall Street Journal Digital Live conference on monday Tim Cook confirmed how many users had decided to pay for Apple Music after their free, 3 month trial had ended. There are still over 8.5 million people still in the free trial period of Apple Music. Having only released in June this year October has been the first month of Apple collecting payment for it’s music streaming service. Though Apple Music may not match Spotify’s 20 million paying subscribers it’s taken an early second place already beating streaming rivals like Pandora’s 3.9 million subscribers and Deezer with 3.8 million. “I’m finding personally that I’m discovering a whole lot of music that I wasn’t listening to before,” said Tim Cook. “I think it’s fabulous, and to have over 15 million on there, and 6.5 million in the paid category, I’m really happy about it. And I think the runway here is really good.” In August Apple’s senior vice president, Eddy Cue, said that Apple Music had 11 million subscribers on their trial, meaning that Apple Music has gained 4 million subscribers since. Apple Music saw criticism after it was initially released with people complaining that the app was broken however with Apple’s maintenance, it’s human curated playlists and Beats 1 – Apple’s worldwide radio station – it seems Apple Music is off to a good start.
Oct 20, 2015 Funny, I bet a lot of the 6.5 million subscribers just forgot to cancel their free trials.
Oct 20, 2015 Honestly I really don't see a difference with this and Spotify, I chose apple music cause it looks better imo.
