He is a thug on the field and has now shown that he makes stupid decisions off the field, yet the AFL will continue to praise him as a brave player and a courageous captain. Are players even allowed to drink alcohol during the season let alone drink driving a week before finals?

No doubt he is a great player - I find it annoying that he is.

Should've said I like Hodge as a player. :P

He's a thug but all greats of the game have a mean streak in them and push the limits of the game. Hodge just does it so carelessly though so it's more noticeable.

Off the field is a different story and I'm no admirer of his stuff off of it.

I view him the same as Joel Selwood. Great players who I admire but both are dirty.

An extremely high profile player may be in A LOT of trouble and don't be surprised if you see them 'retire' soon. I'm not naming them but you can all add two and two together. I won't write it here but there was a big incident yesterday and the word I've got is this may be it for the player.
