Dec 9, 2015 Or, and hear me out now, Kendrick just decided to make a song and bdkmv was the end result. Not every song with radio appeal was meant exclusively to be a song with radio appeal.
Dec 9, 2015 Yeah, that's all possible. I don't think there is a definite reason as to why it turned out like it did. I just wanted to shed some light on the songs place within the context of the story. Any of those ideas are possible, but only Kendrick can really be the one to answer it.
Dec 9, 2015 The reason BDKMV might not fit is because like @PoshP said: "Nearly all the other GKMC songs on the album talk about Kendrick growing up in Compton and the things he experiences. However, this song talks about his career up to that point and the shadiness in the music industry etc." which got me thinking.. I have to go back and listen to GKMC lol...but also I've been thinking that GKMC, since its a "story", was written as a fiction piece with real events tied into it? ..its like the Titanic (movie version) how the writers took the basic story of a tragedy to make the movie, but added some parts: i.e. the love story between Jack and Rose (which critics have commented that there was never a "Jack or Rose" on board the Titanic, but it made for one h--- of an addition to the script...... that scene where Jack draws Rose butt naked in her room ....classic) So the reason why BDKMV sounds as if it doesn't follow the story line is because it takes place in the present and its Kendrick taking a break form writing his story. (almost as if hes trying to take us through the whole process he went through with making the album.) I hope I explained that right sometimes I have trouble getting my ideas across
Dec 9, 2015 This is another great potential analysis. Honestly, I think the possibilities are endless with this. When you look beyond the surface of GKMC and TPAB and explore it deep down you realise that there are real levels to what he's doing. This is what makes it timeless in my opinion, there are always things to work out and discover.
