Nov 30, 2015 What are some bands that you just absolutely despise, but for some reason everyone else loves them? Here are some of mine: What would happen if Eminem became even more pop-friendly? twenty one pilots are the answer. The songwriting is awful, the production is mediocre, and the rapping? Oh my god the rapping. The rapping is some of the lamest s--- I've heard in a long time. This s--- sounds like the logical progression of nu metal. Speaking of bad songwriting, it's Halsey. Another case like twenty one pilots where fans think they're supporting someone who's "indie," but in reality are as poppy as they come. This song especially is so overdramatic and laughably bad. "We are the new Americana / High on legal marijuana / Raised on Biggie and Nirvana" This s--- is Tumblr fan service at its finest. Anyways S80, what's yours?
Nov 30, 2015 Why is pop a bad word? Top 40 country music is so derivative that it hurts. The fact that it has come to kind of embrace elements of rap music is the worst. Not to mention that I've been surrounded by this trash my whole life.
Nov 30, 2015 That car radio s--- is f---ing garbage why the f--- is that weirdo shaving his hair the whole video, I can't listen to that whiny s---
Nov 30, 2015 On my phone so I'm narshing and triple posting but I don't think anyone loves these bands or artists other than the group of people I listed in my first post here
Nov 30, 2015 hard to say specially since I almost completely avoid what I hate as far as music is concerned, but I'd say the vast majority of the popular deephouse style EDM, as well as most of the popular pop/rock/country/rap music that gets played on the radio
Nov 30, 2015 For the follow-up to 2013’s Vessel, multi-directional pop princes twenty one pilots ramped up everything, from new influences to the number of producers (four) to the metric ton of uncertainties and fears multiplying in frontman/songwriter Tyler Joseph’s cranium. And it’s wonderful. Much of Blurryface is couched in reggae idioms (“Ride,” “Polarize,” “Message Man”) that work with Joseph’s hard staccato rapping style and drummer Josh Dun’s rhythmic dexterity. But that’s only part of the picture: “Tear In My Heart” is a Foldsian piano-pounder professing great love via splatter-film imagery (“She’s a carver/She’s a butcher with a smile”); the double-time ukulele rocker “We Don’t Believe What’s On T.V.” is where the personal meets the political and the cathartic “Goner” feels like Joseph is trapped on ocean rocks, awaiting the final crushing wave. “Don’t trust a perfect person and don’t trust a song that’s flawless,” he warns on the furious reggae/jungle/dubstep hybrid “Lane Boy.” And he’s absolutely right; great art is rarely made by normal people. 9/10 http://www.altpress.com/reviews/entry/review_twenty_one_pilots_blurryface
Nov 30, 2015 retweet. Wayne's had a pretty weird career. Heaps of people liked him and he got big (obv) then because he got so big a few people started hating him and saying he was out right trash then it was like a bandwagon, then that "its cool to h8 wayne" period started and sorta died down, his fans now are hating because no ceilings 2 was apparently pretty bad.
Nov 30, 2015 Future for me as well. I agree with @Legends, he sounds bored af & monotonous quite often (particularly on his slow, druggy s---), and when he doesn't sound bored, & he's putting in more energy (for a b-----r), he's just mumbling the lyrics loudly. His mumbling is what just kills it for me. Can't stand his presence in songs. He does have a h--- of an ear for beats though.
Nov 30, 2015 Young Thug, Fetty Wap, Chief Keef, etc. I might be the only one who doesn't have a problem with his voice
