Jul 30, 2018 No watch T1 first its a fantastic movie and imo better than the second since it has some horror elemets in it. And Arnold as the villain is really an unstoppable machine. T2 is a 10/ 10 but it builds on T1s foundation. (Story and characters) Trust me bro start with T1.
Jul 31, 2018 Predator’s score is so imposing in that film. Love those early scenes after the raid on the village when the orchestra is just deafening. I’d say the raid is the peak of the actual “action” though. The rest of the film is mostly a paranoid chess match with people getting picked off. It’s not consistently kinetic and violent in the open which I consider to define action. Also, any movie without heaps of fight choreography should really be disqualified from holding the mantle. It’s just not representative enough. With that in mind, and not being super well acquainted with enough John Woo or actual Asian action movies in general, it’s got to be one of Keanu’s contributions whether you want to say Matrix, John Wick, or the sequel. Both franchise’s set new standards, especially in marrying the eastern brand of action with the western one. I love Bronson and Arnold and JCVD and all the icons but so many of their pictures are restricted to shooting guns or very limited gimmicks like splits and high kicks or Seagal’s pseudo-judo. Reeves really dove into the hard work of acquiring physical competence. He’s got a purple belt in BJJ I believe, you can see videos of him training tactical shooting, he made his own kung fu movie, and the results speak for themselves at to how this has made him so much more capable than his peers.
