Totally agree. The beats he made on Compton are great too. You can say the dude is washed up (I disagree because I love that album) but in his prime his beats were (and still are) absolutely amazing.

It was cool back then, his beats just sound so dated now tho. I'm not going to put Dr Dre on my list because he made cool beats a decade ago. I can't pretend that the beats now don't sound better than what he was making

Dre is the architect behind like half a dozen classic albums. Too many contrarians ITT.

He only produced Half of Compton and there were even 2-4 other producers on the track that he did produce

I find beats like this wayyy more interesting and entertaining tbh

Nothing against Dre, its just that music has advanced and his time is gone.

Dre, Preemo and RZA are essentials in any all time hip hop producer list. Their combined work laid the foundations for rap as we know it. Dre especially changed the entire sound of the genre, twice. Mad disrespectful to leave him off the list. Kanye, Dilla, Just Blaze and Timbo are also all up there in terms of influence and quality.

Metro Boomin is my personal favorite producer of the 10's, Zay coming in a close second

Those beats are all dope af, I just we are talking of all time. And thar Dre isn't active rn doesn't discredit what he did in the past. And still relapse is pretty recent. But yeah to each his own of course when it comes to questions like this
