Apr 10, 2017 In terms of writing, character development, and cinematography I would say it's pretty close (to the first 2). Since it's basically the same team, they've refined a lot of their techniques (especially on the cinematography side good gracious). Ofc it's not as action packed or intense (besides the Mike centric episode which is better than a lot of BB episodes) but it's very good in its own right. If you go back and watch the first 2 seasons of BB (which I've had a lot of ppl tell me they stopped watching bc it's slow) you can see things were quite more inconsistent than the later seasons which are objectively perfect and will never be touched by any show most likely.
Apr 10, 2017 I just rewatched BB again in December. I never thought the first two seasons were slow by any means. Saul on the other hand has had extremely slow episodes, where the only reason you stick with it is because you know what he's going to become and you want to see what happens. They're lucky that they can rely on that payoff. Like I said, I like the show, but it would not be as near as popular if there wasn't BB.
Apr 10, 2017 As much as I love gene the Cinnabon manager (and I just noticed he kinda looks like Walt at the beginning of BB with the glasses/Stache) I hope they have more than 1 or 2 in the whole season. Time to start giving more info as to what happened after the end of BB That was still a pretty great scene tho lol, and the dude wasn't read his Miranda rights so he could get off possibly
Apr 10, 2017 Wow jimmy in full saul mode with that Air Force guy and he was calling him and lawyers in general out on their s---, great dialogue Classic scene "Thank you for your service!"
Apr 11, 2017 I just read in an interview that there's gonna be another "fan favorite" from BB being re-introduced next episode, I wonder who it is?
Apr 11, 2017 Vince Gilligan on an unspecified episode in the 1st half of this season: "I feel like I just watched the 63rd episode of Breaking Bad" It's lit
Apr 11, 2017 Episode was great, wonder where they're going with the black and white scenes tho, Gus next week gonna be dope
Apr 12, 2017 Disagree. First two seasons of Breaking Bad were not slow at all. In comparison to the 3 later seasons? Sure, but it still sets the bar pretty d--- high. I felt Breaking Bad was MUCH better than the first two seasons of Better Call Saul, even though I love the show. There were so many more interesting things going on in Breaking Bad's first two seasons than Better Call Saul.
