lol, i think you may have missed by glib point/joke... the idea was that u get stoned and focus on fairly silly technical elements of a tv show that aren't particularly unique/special. so its about your critical thinking, not me slamming your recreational habits

anyways, i kinda like this is 10 episodes? i think that works well for these type of shows, at least in terms of arc. seasons with 20+ episodes usually feel padded imo (generally speaking..)

umm... ok? not sure how to rly read this sentence, lol. and restraint? we've already had a huge (but edit NOT surprising) reveal for chuck. i dont disagree the writing is good/servicable... but when they arent retreading breaking bad, theyre blowing their load on future directions the shows characters can go. as ive said before, theres an inherent flaw in doing a prequel, especially this way. no way jimmy was going to be a partner -- we know his destiny. imo, we don't need to rly see mikes backstory, and i dont especially care to see gus' origins.

its good, sure. the issue is odenkirk and mckean are both comic actors, and i see their pinnacle scene together was undercut by the fact u can tell theres a ceiling on their abilities.

banks is great, no question there. i dont disagree, but im just underwhelmed/dont feel any of it is rly essential. entertaining show

so even though you recognize its in inherently pointless premise.... and thematically might be too close to BB still, u like the show so u like the show?

not a bad show, but viewing it as somewhat futile, or limited in its greatness, is prolly the correct assessment. we have to be critical of the shows we watch, and not just vomit empty praise

it's not, and doesn't have to be, an OAT situation (like i believe a lot of moments in BB were, as if that's a ludicrous to believe), but the finale was far from "meh" or "ehh" or whatevs

it was pretty fantastic. the show has been impeccable from a directing POV. the writing has had some questionable moments for me, and feels a bit rough around the edges, to be honest. but their restraint and the fact they always have a long con, as it were, in mind, keeps my faith in the writers at a consistently high level

the acting has been nothing short of great as well. Odenkirk and Banks are finding ways to add dimensions to their characters that not only build on existing cannon, but successfully provide it more context, and depth.

s1 is a huge success in all regards tbh -- especially when people thought they would somehow drop the ball.

the one's who believed it would be good, but unnecessary, are kind of in the right -- but i think the quality of the show outweighs any argument against it's necessity.

breaking bad's first is so much more exciting. not that this needed or wanted to be.

thats why i need a few more season of BCS to put things in context, before comparing it to BB

I really did love this season. From beginning to season end, Better Call Saul managed to be incredibly engaging in even the most mundane of times. I really didn't think they could pull this show off, but now I have no doubt that this will easily become one of the best shows on television, if it hasn't already.

Yeah that's definetley one of the most iconic moments in the series but as far as the writing and acting, the mike episode was right with it. Johnathan banks deserves an oscar for that scene with his daughter in law alone.

Last episode was awesome, definitely hyped me up for the finale. That GTAV Lester/Trevor cameo was f---ing perfect. Lester always saying things like "I told you it was a 3 man job!" to Mike that brang back some GTAV memories whew.
