    I don't get nothing from his music, his style was pretty repetitive, same for the subject matters and flow, it looked like his lyrics followed always the same pattern

    I'll give you that. His delivery and flow hold up very well. Plus his considerable battle rap experience set him apart. Lots of humor and general smugness.

    L's cocky energy is one of his biggest qualities? Have you heard the average album from 1995?

    You mean like multi syllabic rhyming? L was beastly. He was gritty, funny. Punchlines were on point

    Not talking about multi syllabic rhyming, I'm saying that it looked like he literally followed a pattern and preset elements to write his tracks. "Hey yo I catch crews, pack the Mac s---t, ask dudes I act rude" blablabla and then sometimes he dropped some brillant punchlines but that's about it, he never did something different in that aspect.

    I get what you're saying but don't you think that it takes a good bit of talent to write like that and still be able to tell a coherent story?

    A good bit? Maybe, but compared to other MC's I don't think he stands out.

    I had to stop talking with him bc I couldn't fathom how he seriously thought those things. If he's not your particular cup of tea that's one thing but to say he was monotone or had no personality?

    Sounds dusty IMO. His lyrics were on point no one will deny that, but musically he was a bit boring. I used to stan him too, mind you.

    It's such a shame he passed away so d--- early in his career.

    I know what You mean about how it sounds but imo I think it kinda adds to the overall appeal of the record
