By common fans? Yes. I rarely ever see it mentioned in top 5 or top 10 lists.

The story doesn't even have to be that detailed, Biggie makes everything sound so important.

    True.

The only artist that I think matches his storytelling, or exceeds it, is Nas.

    Both make/made stories so effortlessly.

f---ing Biggie encompasses many styles. :noah:

My top 10 is a bit unique but I'd still take 'em over Big's.

    Dear Mama
    Keep Ya Head Up
    Brenda's Got A Baby
    Ambitionz Az A Ridah
    Hail Mary
    Str8 Ballin
    Can't C Me
    Only God Can Judge Me
    Life Goes On
To Live & Die In L.A.
Probably why I prefer Pac. s--- spoke to me. :lawd:

I try to stay away from the common fan that you would see on YouTube or Facebook or wherever so I guess I wouldn't know lol. It's always been one of my favorite biggie songs though.

Before I get jumped on I concede Biggie is objectively the better artist.

But gimme Pac > him all day any day.

    Not talking them.

I'm talking about my friends, who I grew up with listening to Biggie, and who always overlook that song lol.

Remember, I'm old, so I remember the height of Biggie and Pac's popularity lol. These debates were normal at school.

I think he was a good artist ....But he was never from the west coast and you can't make an uplifting song like "Hold Ya Head" for women and then make a song like "Hit Em Up" where you say "f--- ya b---- and the click ya claim." Not as inspiring when you think about it

Ahhhh I see. Yeah, I live in California so whenever Biggie comes up, 2pac immediately gets injected into the discussion and it pretty much turns into a "let's talk s--- about biggie" discussion lol

Absolutely but I still think Pac did that aspect better though. Combined with the less-sophisticated lyrics it just combined so well, it's what made stuff like Dear Mama & Life Goes On so transcending...I'm on Team Biggie but I just want to keep this convo going :lolbron:

Me and My Girlfriend is definitely not overlooked. One of the greatest tracks of all time. Ballad of a dead Soulja and Shorty Wanna be a Thug are though

What's funny is, I live in New England, and obviously Biggie is way more popular than 2Pac here, but I never really was for either artist. I liked them both, same as Nas and Jay.

I mean, I prefer Nas over every artist, but I don't hate on Jay at all, I think he's brilliant and he's one of my all time favorites. All 4 are my top 4.

IDK who I prefer between Pac and Big though.
