Jesus Christ, what is wrong with people's ears? The album was so s---, I felt like Schoolboy Q was regressing and declining deliberately. I thought he meant to sound like a---. n----s got trolled by Uncle Quincy Hanley and I love it. Y'all ain't Fig Side, obviously.

I agree! People think I'm trolling but look at my f---ing post above from almost two years ago. Best album of 2016 and revival best album of 2017.

I mean every track is good, it has little to no filler and its not only his highest acclaimed project but it was even nominated for a grammy so I don't think it's ''Not Good''. I can see why you don't think its a classic but calling bad is just dumb

aight lemme regress for a sec. it isnt bad,. just not great, or anywhere near classic status.

lmao dude there is so much f---ing filler and topic repetition on this project stop being stupid he coulda easily cut like 6 tracks off this album. lets just go through the tracklist really quick

    1. Torch: interesting beat and vocal effects, cool verses and anderson is cool too, but drags on for way too long. boring all in all.
    2. Lord Have Mercy: good song
    3. THat Part: fantastic song
    4. Groovy Tony / Eddie Kane: if anything off this album is classic, its this
    5. Kno Ya Wrong: good track
    6. Ride Out: fire song

now this is where the album gets shaky

    7. Whateva U Want: this is a skip. nice WC beat and cool hook, but Q sounds like buns on this
    8. By Any Means: just garbage. this song is terrible lmao. wtf was Q even thinking
    9. Dope Dealer: amazing track
    10. John Muir: great song
    11. Big Body: lmaoooo. just lmaooo. f---ing worst track ive ever heard from Q. and i like WC s--- like this but this is just Dogg Pound watered down to the max
    12. Neva Change: i like this track, SZA kills it and Q drops some noteworthy verses
    13. Str8 Ballin' just a waste of stuudio time in general. boring song, terrible beat, Q sounds like a dying chihuahua on this too.
    14. Black Thoughts: fantastic song
    15. Blank Face: cool song, gets kinda boring but i dont mind it
    16. Overtime: dope song but it doesnt belong on an album like this. it just feels out of place lyrically
    17. Tookie Knows II: amazing song. not much to say here

so how many skips was that? 5 songs outta f---ing 17.

this album is boring, unfocused, repetitive, and too bleak and bland to be considered interesting. it has amazing moments, but as a whole body of work, it doesnt do anything for me. it bills itself proudly as a concept album, but its too vauge in its presentation for me to consider it a good concept. if he wanted the short film to work he shoulda make this a visual album something and fully fledged it out, but he didnt. its lazy writing. if he cut all the skippable tracks and made the concept more detailed and interesting, i would think differently of this album.

im not gonna act like i dont bump songs from this, but im also not gonna act like its this amazing album and go so far to call it a classic, when it meets none of the credentials to be considered one.

and as for a classic argument? this album literally has NO INFLUENCE. it hasnt done anything for the progression of rap music. you cant name me one rapper who has been influenced by this album and has explicitly said so.

this album is a 7/10. it has some AMAZING moments, but its bogged down by a lazy concept, repetitive song topics, and FILLER.

so stop calling it a great album. cause it isnt. and dont even try calling it a classic.

JoHn Muir, Groovy Tony:dkk:, Eddie Kane, Black THoughts, Neva CHange, and Lord Have Mercy are some of the best songs of his career. The only weak song on the album is Overtime but its basically Studio 2. Idk why yall hate on this album its Qs best one yet

The funny thing is, every Q album so far has been a classic but Blank Face is just the most classic of them all. The only artist to have a flawless discography next to Eminem
