Jan 21, 2017 thi Many of you or people from the youtube comments think that he’s just another rapper that makes “school shooter” music and can be classified in the same league with rappers like Eminem or Hopsin. But just because he’s moody and looking like he wants to s---t a school you MUST actually listen to some of his mixtapes. I hate it i just hate it when people say this stuff about him. Well what does a rapper need to be in the top 30? One of the main things is to have a loyal fanbase. Bones doesn’t need annoying stans or fuckbois that wear “Sesh” t-shirts everywhere they go. He just needs a cult following and he did that. Look at Kid Cudi for example. When was the last time you heard Kid Cudi on the radio? Even tho Cudi is not on the charts or on the radio no more his fanbase will always be there for him. Recently after the release of Speedin Bullet to Heaven many artists began to appreciate more Kid Cudi including Travis Scott. That’s the point with Bones. He may not one of the best rappers objectively but he managed to get a loyal fanbase. Not just with lyrical skills and etc. he managed to do that with the connection with the people, his personality, his style. Another reason is that he is hardworking. He’s not like some lazy artist that barely drops anything. Bones started off as an underground rapper and he actually started off as Th@ Kid. You can see how much he did throughout only 2011 and 2012 The argument you may say is that he chose quantity over quality. Well it’s not that. How about you go and listen to those mixtapes first. You may beg your favourite rapper to drop his long awaited album but then just to be a dissapointment its not fair. I might go back to this fact but another question is why did he change his name. Sure you could not give a f--- what a rapper is called he can be called the most stupid or cringiest name in the world but if he releases good music then he’ll get the respect of course. But why did “Th@ Kid” exactly change his name? maybe he wanted to be taken more seriously? maybe to have a more memorable name? So people can remember him? That’s another example why Bones should be considered a perfectionist to his roots. He went deeper and deeper in his style now, so the name “Bones” should fit the theme and vibes of his music [You do know what I’m talkin bout} Moving on he’s known for his polarizing style. He doesn’t look like that tough scary thug who is “threatening to s---t n----s”. He is known for a more goth style of rap and you may say he is a “rocker” , “emo” etc But that’s stupid. You can’t judge someone by their looks. In an interview he said that when he was smaller he used to write rhymes on “big pieces of paper in big block letters that looked like s---, read like s---". It was a cathartic process for a hip-hop-obsessed California native whose family had moved him at age 7 to a rural town 40 minutes outside of Detroit, where he was a clear misfit. Bones’s short tracks, creepy videos, and one-word tweets rack up millions of social media interactions from a cult following that helped him sell out shows in 25 cities on a recent tour. The hip-hop elite is taking notice. He had some of “mainstream” succes after being featured on A$AP Rocky’s 2nd studio album “At. Long. Last. A$AP.” But notice it was because of one of his own songs “Dirt” A$AP Rocky basically sampled the hook and the beat. So why not agree with this opportunity? Rocky has the same similar style. He’s known for dreamy, cloudy beats. Bones just couldnt’t have that BIG commercial succes because he stayed too true to his roots. He never changed his style. Nobody likes a sell-out that not only betrays his fans but also himself. Bones was aware of that and he didn’t want to be taken as a joke. This is another PLUS to him. He’s very consistent. While yes every artist takes risks and takes experiments such as Kanye and Kid Cudi, this is what an artist should do in the first place. Kanye was always testing his fanbase with high risks such as 808’s and Yeezus, Kid Cudi with Indicud and Speedin Bullet to Heaven. Taking risks is an essential and a “Must Do” if you want to be an artist. If you’re just a p---- and are afraid to take them then you can’t be classified like that. production wise its him putting elements of Goth Trap in there and on and on. He is also using Memhis rap styles in some of his songs too. Basically some singing goes in there, some guitar, most are trap flavoured beats combined with spacey, eerie production. He may be described as a cloud rapper and drew comparisons to fellow internet rappers like Lil B and YUNG LEAN. However both of these that i mentioned don’t have that styler and that type of theme to them. His influences include Bhone Thugs and Three Six Mafia such as other south rappers. Bones usually has brief short songs and many times i wish that his songs were longer. This proves another point that he did not choose quantity over quality as you may think that because he has a large discography. Other way you might not agree is just that he doesn’t have that legacy that Jay z, Nas other rappers have. But look at the bigger picture here. Every rapper that has come to a loyal fanbase to being memorable for something. Nas has a legacy, Hopsin has a legacy; Jay Z has a legacy, Keef has a legacy as well. People really just don’t give enough credit for the new school rappers. Bones is an essential for the Cloud Rap genre, for the Internet rap scene, for the rappers that are mostly known for their mixtapes despite having an album [Young Thug]. Many people can list Bones as an influence for them. And of course a top 30 rapper must have a good presence at his show right? he must be energetic, handling the concert in his way. “Did you see that? Bones went crazy and started to scream like an "emo”“ - said nobody Bones manged to pull that off without being called "emo” , “corny”, “cringy”. But of course the show didn’t allow Bones and A$AP Rocky’s realness as it was removed from the official channel. You may think that i am reviewing him as he was an album or something. Well i’m talking about his skills, his popularity, consistency, memorability etc. So far you may say that he’s not and list your top 30. Or make an upvote bait post. But really he has it all there. His childhood was not so easy as he said in some interviews. he just doesn’t want to put it in your face, and to brag about it or even making random stories up so many people will believe you lived hard in the hood. He has a large discography that you are sleeping on He is experimental Original in his style and beats Doesn’t come as a coppycat found or made his own lane Disses other rappers but not in that way. He takes on a easier method check his songs out. Hopefully Bones can get more credit on RG cuz hes top 30 Btw check out his recent mixtape
Jan 21, 2017 But you just changed your stance 2 mixtapes only, f--- up kunt and he's not top 10 in that either sorry
