Jan 31, 2019 #25 with nearly just 10.5K total sps. Could be around 12-13K in the final projections but it's definitely not good numbers
Jan 31, 2019 wow it's bad for a major release with a major cosign... even if he underground as h---... hope that doesn't mean he'll get shelve next time how JID did with idcap2 already? and Reason?
Jan 31, 2019 This album has been in constant rotation. I love every song. Even the hype ones that break up the slow vibe of the album. Boogie is just saying some real s---. Pluse his melodies are just perfect. I’m not even that mad at Em’s verse anymore. I still wish he could of matched the same tempo as Boogie but, then Em wouldn’t be Em. But yeah. This album is just great. Em found a good artist
Jan 31, 2019 JID is a same caliber artist than Boogie, and oddly enough they are close friends his first major release Dicap2 just did "14,554 units — 2,546 of those are traditional album sale" first week and got some high caliber cosign too (JCole) Looks like Boogie will be on par with this, which is ultimately logic all things considered
Jan 31, 2019 Okay time for a review. So I was expecting this a lot. I'll try to be concise. I unfortunately got very late on the Boogie-Train and start listening to him two or three years ago. I instantly liked his creativity, storytelling and the rawness of his melodic hip hop ballads. His few projects, except for maybe three to four tracks were lacking production wise though. But the potential was there. Boogie is a hood rapper with a mellow gangster persona. It's easy to relate considering the Compton native makes some kind of "Gangbangin' & Heartbreaks" music. Ok, let's dive into my thoughts on EVERYTHINGS FOR SALE after a full week on constant rotation. First, this album is a grower, and won't blow your mind first hand. Production wise, the low beat instrumentation is smooth, polished, jazzy and soulful with hard hitting drums, and has the "Professional sound" Boogie was missing. Boogie told that his creative process consisted in searching for melodies to ride the beat. And you can tell, it's actually rapping, singing and mumbling perfectly blended together and it's often hard to realize he changed pace and pitch. I like the fact that his mellow tone his contrasted by a distinctive harsh crispiness. I like the fact that he fully embraced the high & fast consuming streaming era to his advantage. The songs are short, at times unstructured and explore out-of-bounds-songwriting processes. While at the beginning I had trouble finding my marks on this, once you've let yourself go, you actually enjoy the ride. On the lyrics side, it was a pleasant surprise that while his pen game is very sharp, he doesn't let himself get carried out of the rhythm and flow in favor of technical display. It's a concept album centered around pure introspection and daily struggles channeled through a very down to earth individual. my top 5 : -Skydive a smooth mellow jazzy ballad -Silent Ride the basic melodic dark boogie track -Self Destruction is the creative gangster double time conceptual track -Live 95 a short kendrick's section80esque track -Rainy days while maybe a bit off album vibe, Boogie multi rap vocals are pleasant Honorable mentions : Soho (which ironically sounds more like a JID Track) Swap Meet (could have been better if it included a transition with Deja Vu at the end) Lolsmh (dope track, the mix lacked a bit energy to my liking)
Jan 31, 2019 Reason's debut and only studio LP (so far) released in 2017 and i don't think it made it on top 200, as for JID now, DiCaprio 2 sold around 15 or 16k first week if i remember right but i really don't think he gets shelved next time, he said in a recent IG live that he heads for a summer release. I hope it's true
Jan 31, 2019 So this s--- goes.... but I didnt realize til like 2 songs in.. that this is not A boogie lol
Feb 5, 2019 Good to see the last page people have finally started talking about this album and not just the Email verse. Let's give this great piece of work the discussion it deserves.
Feb 6, 2019 First Week Sales In : (Billboard 200) 28 BOOGIE | EVERYTHINGS FOR SALE SHADY/INTERSCOPE 18,397 (Pure Sales : 3,264) (Streams : 15.132) Ìn comparison : J.I.D’s new project DiCaprio 2 has hit the chart at No. 41 with 16,970 total album equivalent units, 2,955 pure album sale
Feb 6, 2019 J.I.D.'s numbers were for 4 days. He didn't release the album on Friday. Get your facts right n-----.
Feb 6, 2019 i'm just stating the billboard stats the week it entered the charts, it's facts. I didn't say anything more. That's first week numbers regardless of how many days it was out prior. plus, you act like 16K in 4 days equals 150K in 7 days. it's the same for this caliber of sales. I showed the comparison cuz for me I considered it equal numbers, I wasn't even making statements like "Boogie>JID" honestly IDGAF the comparison was interesting, cuz they are both co-signed by a major Rapper with high topping charts albums and they are both respectively signed to their label so calm the f--- down really
