Idk, I don't think what we've seen from GGG during his pro career is necessarily indicative of his skill as a boxer. He's a skillful pressure fighter, but that's not what won him world championships in the amateurs. He showed against Lemieux that he has other gears he can shift into. Call it an excuse, but I think he's willing to eat shots because he has confidence in his chin and trading is always going to be in his favor.

Jacobs did some stuff that Canelo won't be able to do regarding fighting going backwards and mobility so Canelo is going to have to find a way to use his style to beat him. Not really a blueprint he can stick to. No clue how they're going to match up come fight night, but Canelo is coming into his prime, and Golovkin is getting old. The young generally eat the old in this sport.

Wasn't Jacobs almost at LHW on fight night? Golovkin's win over Jacobs was more convincing than Ward beating Kovalev.
But GGG does get gassed pretty quick. Someone with more 'boxing skills' like Canelo could use this to his advantage and frustrate GGG.
Canelo is not knocking Golovkin out, but could put on a Mayweather show and win on points. Canelo's defence will be the defining factor come Sept 16.

Nah, he had 10-15 pounds on him, but he made weight so it's not like he cheated. Weight cutting is a part of the sport. Shawn Porter fought at LHW in the amateurs and has spent his pro career at welterweight.

I disagree that Canelo can't knock out GGG. I think that's more likely than him putting on a Mayweatheresque performance. He doesn't have the footwork to do what Jacobs did. He likes to bend at the waste more than to move around. h---, Cotto and Khan were "outboxing" him, they just couldn't discourage him or hurt him with anything.

You think so? I don't think I'll be surprised regardless of what happens. Brook is an underachiever, but I think highly of him as a fighter. Spence has been lauded as the next elite American, but I'm not as high on him as, say, Crawford. Both are huge welterweights. I'm excited.

Well, I'm hopeful. Spence has been my favorite active fighter for a while now and I'm through the roof excited he finally has a real fight. I do think he'll win handily tomorrow but Brook is no slouch and I applaud him for having the balls to give Errol this fight. Regardless of what happens tomorrow night though the real winner is boxing fans.

Going to be a great fight.

I have not seen much of Spence but know he is highly rated.
    Both fighters in amazing shape.

I have followed Brook's career & he is a very strong welterweight but his defence is his weakness.

In all seriousness that was a great fight and as a Spence Stan I'll admit Brook exposed some holes that he has to fix because he was really out boxing him the first 5 rounds. Errol is a bad man though and he's only going to get better. He'd wreck Thurman and Garcia.

That body work was nasty. Still don't fancy Spence as the next legend, but he stuck it out and beat the s--- out of a good boxer in his hometown.

Brook is a disgrace. Maybe it is demons from Golovkin fight but he quit in front of his own crowd of 27,000.

Spence looks great. That fight will bring him on alot as he did struggle in the first 6 rounds.
I think he beats Thurman easily.
Spence is too strong for any other welterweights.

It was another very good fight been an amazing year of boxing so far.

Brook shouldn't have had to quit. He was getting battered towards the end. Ref or corner should have done it for him tbh.

He was getting battered but not quite enough for a stoppage.

That referee Howard Foster is well known for premature stoppages too.

Also a lesson for Brook not to chase money.

His team & Brook taking the Golovkin was a huge mistake.

Are you under the impression that he damaged that same eye? Because Golovkin fractured his right orbital, and Spence went to work on his left. You could maybe say the bulking up hurt his gas tank, but Brook has always been massive for the weight and Spence absolutely drilled his midsection the whole fight.

I know he wasn't the same eye as the Golovkin fight.

I think mentally he was damaged from the Golovkin fight. Brook never seemed confident in the fight even the first 6 rounds.
Spence is known to have an incredible worth ethic he was in better condition than Brook.

Early prediction for Spence/Thurman? Aside from Thurman ducking of course Lol?

I do disagree that the fight should have been stopped. I didn't think it was that bad(although it was getting there) and I don't think he'd have taken the knee if the Triple G fight never happened. Mentally, Brook's career might be over.

Sounds like some armchair psychology. Brook broke first. You can blame that on GGG or the fact he spent his career fighting nobodies beforehand apart from Shawn Porter who might be the most one dimensional fighter in the division. He didn't even break right away. He survived a few rounds while getting pummeled from post to post. Even landed some good shots while doing so. Just seems like calling it a psychological edge takes away from the persistence and grit that Spence showed. Brook didn't even really take a beating against GGG. His orbital bailed him out before he could get punished. h---, he used the GGG fight as a point of pride leading up to this.
