    The Wire is a better written show than BB & more complex. So your IQ comment doesn't make sense.

    Both are great though.

    Just because you can't grasp the greatness of BB doesn't make the one you can understand 'better written'.

    I honestly feel bad for those who can't truly appreciate how good BB is.

    I don't think anyone's questioning BB's greatness, just your dismissal of the wire cuz at worst one is slightly better than the other. They're both fantastic.

    I never said The Wire wasn't great, but there can only be one "best show oat".

    Yes, The Wire is a fanstatic show. No doubt about it.

    Love GoT and I feel you on the cultural phenomenon aspect, but it's much much better than Lost.

    Voted for The Wire btw.

    Yeah I'd agree it has a higher consistency than LOST for sure, but to be fair LOST was forced to have 24 episodes a season cuz of network tv so there was bound to be filler. Just imagine if LOST had been on HBO. I love GOT but the past few seasons have def been spotty.

    You seen The Leftovers? It was a show on HBO by the same dude who did LOST but it's way better.

    You said people would have to have a double-digit IQ to choose The Wire so it kinda seemed like you didn't think it was that good lol.

    I think The Wire is easily better than BB, but I also understand why someone would choose BB over it. Both as close to perfect TV shows as you can get. Sopranos too but the first half of the last season is pretty spotty

    Breaking Bad over The Wire. My top 3 would be Breaking Bad, Sopranos and the Wire. BB and Sopranos are interchangeable top 2 for me. The last season of the wire dropped in quality a little.

    Yeah and even with the filler Lost didn't fall off really until the end. I don't wanna say I wasn't a fan of GoT season 7, I just hated the pace of it. I'd rather have gotten 10 regular length episodes than such an accelerated timeline.

    And nah I'm gonna have to check it out.

    Mos def, I still enjoyed every season of GOT but yeah I was mixed on the accelerated timeline. In some instances I remember liking that they sped up the plot to cut filler, but in others (beyond the wall ep) it was just dumb. Honestly I think just having one more episode woulda helped fix the pacing.

    Leftovers is a must watch, only three seasons but it's exactly as long as it needed to be.

    I think OZ is superior to The Wire, I need to rewatch the wire because I’ve missed a few episodes in between seasons and the slow pace kills me sometimes.

    i think i like breaking bad more because i was watching it as it was coming out and anticipating every episode a lot
    the sl breaking bad thread >>>>
    the wire was already finished by the time i started watching it and it took me sooo long to get into the first season but then i wound up loving it
    idk what one i like more overall i think the wire had better characters but idk been years since i saw breaking bad and the wires still fresh in my head
