Nov 18, 2016 Great thread topic. The "8 Mile era" is by far his peak but I thought it went from unstoppable to instant classic must hear music when he signed 50. Every release or leak was immediately a "where were you when..." event. Em and Dre already ruled both the rap game and pop culture. It was complete dominance. Somehow they went to another stratosphere when they helped 50 release In Da Club. I was in my early 20s at this time. I remember it all so vividly. Any leak or new freestyle from Eminem's brother or Kay slay or Green lantern and the world stopped. Literally everyone was bumping that s--- back then, every house party and every block party, every car full of kids driving around with their windows down, it was just everywhere, and no one ever had negative things to say about Eminem. He literally was unstoppable. I don't listen to rock music at all but I feel like this era is similar to when the Beatles first broke into America and took the world by storm. After signing 50 cent and getting caught up in all the beefs, Eminem was slaughtering verses and whole songs. That mediafire link in this thread (thanks for sharing!) is a good recap of some of his best work from that time but there was so much more material when you include the 3 Green lantern Mixtapes (I listen to this s--- all the d--- time, I never grow old of it, especially part 2... ), G-Unit mixtapes, plus all the official albums released by Aftermath/Shady/G-Unit. f--- man there was so much material being released. So fortunate we live in a world where we can easily listen to all that music!
Nov 19, 2016 If I get killed for this rap, I got a million in cash, that says I will get you back in Hailie's name.
Nov 19, 2016 Yup it's a great song. My personal favorite em diss is either Nail in the Coffin or Girls. Although now that I think of it, my favorite might be Quitter/Ht em Up. Man em destroyed some dudes on the mic. f--- man!
May 14, 2017 I miss how Em used to flow to beats. But this one, he kinda does the entire song. Thats what makes it unique to me.
May 15, 2017 Nathan did the leaks? Come to think of it he never mentions him at all. It's a shame we got the encore we got because of it. However for uniqueness, that song about fruit he did. It was awful, but unique.
May 15, 2017 Hmm. Not sure about his most unique... But it is brilliant, I agree. I'd say maybe... Lose Yourself and The Way I Am are most similar in the sense of the song structures. Bully, similarly, has that kind of... big melodic rap march of a flow where he almost powerfully hum-raps intricate rhymes. Something about the way the rhymes are put together too - All of them are super powerful because of it, they feel BIG. But yeah, it's f---ing brilliant. Makes it even more annoying when he uses dog s--- beats or [insert verses here] songs with 'made for anybody' hooks. It's like, d---, for f--- sake Em, look what you're capable of - as a song maker. Stop lowering yourself to that crap.
May 15, 2017 My bad... I forgot you were there. So what part did Keith Bender have in the altercation then oh wise one? I guess he was merely the fall guy.
May 15, 2017 Dude this obviously went waaay over your head. Do you even know who Keith Bender is? It's just that from your account of events, you seems so sure that you know exactly what went down that night. I'd like to know who shot first please, and what part if any... Keith Bender played, in 2x people losing their lives that night. If someone shot at me, and I retaliated, I'd suggest it becomes a bit more at that point than 'over a game of pool'. Yeah hommie... I shot someone the f--- up because I got shot at. lol. Not because I potted the black in a f---ing pool game. There are questions that haven't been answered properly about proofs death. I'm not suggesting that the Greys came down from the Sirius Constellation and abducted him, but I am saying that police haven't' really co-operated with a thorough investigation of this murder.... and it was all swept under the rug pretty sharpish. There's more it it than ' well yeah Deshaun was playing poor at pool, and lost his temper so decided to pistol wip hommie for beating him. That's all I'm saying. We'll probably never know the full story.
