Jan 8, 2018 Lets take a break from all the bashing and just appreciate how great of a concept this track had ye it would kinda drag on in the first two verses but the build up to those last three minutes were so godly entire mmlp2 aint on the same level as the first one but god d--- this must've been one of Em's best intros ever, kinda wished that Em saved this song for Revival and put it in the intro instead of WoW since it fits the theme so perfectly with the story of Matthew Mitchell avenging Stan's demise. just some positive things to post up in this sxn for a change ya know
Jan 8, 2018 This song was probably the most fitting song in the MMLP 2, so no I'm glad it is on MMLP2. Wish it had a better beat more easy to listen to like Stan had but whatever.... Btw Revival's intro was great too. Can't see how can an Eminem fan hate an intro like Walk on Water....
Jan 8, 2018 nah i dont hate it bro, i just think it could've been better executed, the concept for bad guy wouldve been more fitting in revival since here we are talking about the death of the Shady persona. Idk about you but i think that Revival is about Em tellin everybody that Shady is one and done for, but Marshall is forever. Hence Em's revival as an artist, scape goating away from the demons he's faced in the past which could've led to his eventual death, and instead rising above it to revive everything shady has destroyed before (just listen to arose, its a song about forgiveness for all the bad things he's done). Hov kinda did that with 444 in k--- Jay-Z, Same concept different views idk i may be overthinking it tho
Jan 8, 2018 first 3 verses straight f---ing s---. Especially considering how great eminem is at telling a vivd story. Some of eminem worst storytelling verses. Most of it is grumbling about nothing, and the confrontation with eminem (which should be the most important/ineresting part of the track) is glossed over in favor of a stan 3rd verse rehash. A back and forth with matthew and eminem (maybe ala kim or guilty conscience) would have been vastly more interesting than him doing stan impressions to himself and could have been some real em confronting his demons s---. The whole framing of the song doesnt is really weak too. In stan we have the whole story taking place in letters/recordings so theres a whole medium for the concept to live in. Bad guy is literally eminem rapping about bedroom window puns to himself. Why the f--- is a character rapping in puns? Not to mention the flow is s--- and doesnt make sense for a character.Stan has a very simple, almost talking type flow because he is not supposed to be an eminem verse. On top of that, eminem made sure to make his voice and intonations sound subtlety different between himself and stan, making the characters feel very distinct in the song. Matthew is just eminem. Hes even doing the trademark eminem laugh at certain points. No effort made to separate them whatsoever. Disgrace to stan. 3 s--- verses, with a cool finale verse that is grossly overrated
Jan 8, 2018 stories have perception and the track has plenty of it, i agree tho it was mainly set up but the second half makes up for what the first half was leadin up to.
