    This. Not gonna happen tho. Here around 35-40% is vaccinated now, atm the people from 55-60 getting their invites. People below 55 (except for people working at hospitals etc) are still waiting tho. Hopefully end june / early july for me!

    Our (England's) approach is this...

    Offer vaccines to the following age groups in this order:
    1. Over 75 & medical front line workers
    2. Over 70
    3. Over 65
    4. Over 35 with underlying health issues
    5. Over 60
    6. Over 50
    7. Over 40
    8. Everyone else

    We have ONLY just offered over 40's the jab and over 35's will be offered it in 2 weeks time. It was never a free-for-all. And we have one of the highest vaccine rates in the world and that will continue to grow as more and more people are offered it. I fell into the "underlying health issue" category. God knows why though. But I'm not complaining.

    I think the CDC’s decision was good. Keep in mind, these are merely guidelines. Local/state governments have no obligation to follow them. A lot of recent research points to people fully vaccinated with mRNA vaccines not being able to transmit the virus or it being incredibly rare for them to do so. It makes sense science wise why they declared it safe for *fully vaccinated people* to be able to unmask.

    yeah I mean at this point you're not going to convince people who don't want to get it to get it. Just open up. 100% no masks. As long as hospitals aren't inundated what will be will be

    Finally getting my first dose of moderna tomorrow morning. So hyped I’ll be fully vax’d just in time for summer!

    @the lyricvore was talking about scoring blow awhile back too...how you gonna not trust a vaccine but you're gonna trust a substance made with gasoline and other chemicals that's commonly cut with cattle dewormer/dirty amphetamines/baby lax/fent/and god knows what else that came across the border from thousands of miles away hidden in someone's prison pocket and then exchanged hands and cut a million more times

    If you can pick I'd go with Pfizer. Less side effects from what I heard. Moderna 2nd dose kicked my a---

    as a healthcare IT worker, I was offered the vaccine the first week of **january** through the hospital i work for...the hospital is located on the other side of the country though (pre-covid i would travel weekly), so I wasn't able to get it. that said, I would have declined the jab at that time -- there was no reason that I (or any other member of the IT non-patient facing team) should have been offered it before nurses/docs/seniors/etc.

    after a few months (March), I finally got mine, but because I'm not patient-facing right now, I def felt a certain level of guilt-- especially once I got there and I was standing in line with 200 senior citizens. my rationale is that i live with my gf who is a covid icu nurse, so i was pretty high risk for contracting (albiet, not high risk for serious complications) & spreading the disease.

    why did the united states have privvy to more vaccinations up-front than other countries?

    i could see several factors, but duno what truth is:
    - the number of cases, deaths, & cases:death rates was pretty bad
    - relationships with pfizer & moderna
    - money
