First off, I just wanna say that I don't mean to call you stupid or anything, I'm just wondering your reasoning and am trying to dispel misinformation.

    But you said:
What data have you seen on people dying from the vaccine? Because all of the data I've seen is unscientific because it assumes correlation = causation, which is one of the most basic scientific fallacies. Like a person gets the vaccine and then dies of natural causes four months later, they attribute that to the vaccine when there's nothing to point toward that. It's like saying that because all these people who died took Tylenol in the past six months, that Tylenol is the cause of death. I'm not saying it's impossible that a vaccine could cause someone to have an adverse reaction and k--- them, but there's no data I've seen that points to any sort of high risk so far.

    Source?

It wasn't made in a couple months, it was made with 50+ years of research, knowledge from the entire world collaborating, and information and testing/data they already had from years of working on vaccines for other coronaviruses that act the same.

I agree with you here—but to be clear I'm talking about his views on prioritizing patent/IP rights for life-saving medicine over, well, saving lives, and not about some sort of 5G/microchip conspiracy theory. But this shouldn't have anything to do with the vaccine's effectiveness tbh.

Yeah, I was expecting don't believe etc. sentence to come back at me, but I also said I knew a few people that were healthy, got vaccinated and died, so that's my first red flag + one of dudes I know from school just lost his cousin, she got vaccinated and died like 2 weeks later, she was 35 or 36 y/o and she was healthy from what I know.

There's a lot of articles about what I said - vaccinated peeps still can get sick. You can always google it, like buddy, I get your point of view, I understand it, but maybe I'm not the one misinformed in here? If they were researching coronaviruses for 50+ years, this particular coronavirus shouldn't be so scary, right? They should've been prepared, right? If this coronavirus is so similar to the other ones, right? They blew this whole thing out of proportion, I gotta tell, 100 % honest -
I believe in COVID, of course I do cause I had it and I still struggle with these long covid syndroms, but it's not as bad as they say it is. Flu kills more people than covid and we never had to wear masks, media never talked about this s--- non-stop like in this case. I literally stopped listening to radio at work and watching TV at all, cause all I see and hear is those stupid covid/get vaccinated ads. If this virus was so deadly they wouldn't have to say I need to get vaccinated everywhere. Even Spotify has these ads now, that's a pretty good fucken reason to get premium at this point if you ask me.

Food for thought - Why, when non vaccinated person dies they say he died because of covid? I can't even go to see my doctor now without singing a paper that says I suspect covid and that's the reason I visit him. My uncle had a stroke last year and died and guess what they wrote in his death certificate - COVID-19. I seen him 2 days before and he was all heathy, no symptoms whatsoever. But if I get vaccinated and I'll die - oh no no no, that's not the vaccine's fault at all sir, even if vaccine creators said they won't held responsibility for side effects.

So, after this little rant, my whole point is... COVID ain't as deadly as they say it is, without media talking about it non-stop we wouldn't even noticed anything (s/o China for these early clips of people dying on the streets, such a fucken bs), if we knew about coronaviruses and this one is so similar to other ones - why they locked up the whole world? They had the knowledge, so why lock the entire world? If you @Donkey Kong Country trust these vaccines, go for it, sure. I'm not judging you at all, if you think this is safe then it's on you - I simply don't trust it. I got all my vaccines as a kid and I will vax my kids if I had any in the future, but this one particular vaccine is a no-no for me.

I'm ready for being called an idiot, flat earther or conspiracy theorist by some of our posters, I don't care. so get at me boys.

might sound crazy, but on my 2nd shot, i got hit hard and quick by exhaustion and an overall not great feeling. i was about to call in sick the 2nd half of the day and i laid down on the couch for about 10 minutes ready to pass out, then decided to drink a redbull (sugar free to be exact) and i was back to feeling not only very sprite, but the shitiness feeling also completed subsided. back to close to 100% quickly. i actually went and partied that night (gf had friends in town, so i joined the outing) without any issue until later in the evening, at which case i had some more caffeine and was right back feeling 100%

moral: sugar free redbull is medicinal

I ended up getting the vaccine today. If I don't post here tomorrow it's cause I didn't make it.

Seriously though, I'm probably not gonna get the second dose. They're talking about annual shots like the flu. If this is going to turn into an annual thing, i'm gonna pass.

Not to mention the side effects from the second dose hit pretty hard from what i've heard.

And this article from today just popped up...

    https://www.cnbc.com/2021/06/10/cov...s-higher-than-expected-after-second-shot.html

You're supposed to be 80% protected with one dose and something like 90% or above with 2 doses.

80% is more than good enough for me.

i got my second dose on may 8th. i didn't have any side effects besides a very light headache that went away a few hours after i took some medicine.

i don't have to wear a mask at work anymore and it feels great. even better, the stadiums at sporting events are getting back to normal. many of the games in the NBA Playoffs have had 17,000 fans.

the NBA crowds looking normal again has me optimistic that NFL stadiums will mostly be full this season--and i've got lower level end zone tickets to the Vikings vs. Panthers :grinning:

Covid will probably just be viewed as a common sickness in a couple years just like the seasonal flu or the common cold and only a very small percentage of the population will get their annual shot..

I got my 2nd shot and barely felt anything except the obvious sore arm and a slight headache with some very sparse nausea mixed in

Just remember that the first dose only provides 33% efficacy for the Delta variant of the virus that's highly contagious and spreading pretty fast

What? Covid is much worse than the flu, the CDC never would have said that. And Bill Gates has little to nothing to do with the vaccines themselves

It's weird to me that people don't need to wear masks if they're vaccinated. The vaccine protects you, not others. A mask protects others, not you. The 2 should go hand in hand whilst we're (as a world) move up the vaccine %. The vaccine won't stop you catching Covid, just stop it hurting you. You can still pass it on to anyone and possibly k--- people who aren't vaccinated.

I love how individual countries are doing well; US, UK etc but it's the worldwide numbers I'm looking at. The world won't be back to normal until this virus can hurt virtually no one.

Been saying this for a long time now. In 5 years time, the Covid and Flu shot will be either combined in one shot or administered at the same time. The elderly vulnerable will get a call from their local GP every year as a reminder to book and get the shot and everyone else can walk into their local pharmacy and pay £10 to have the shot I'd they want to.

I've personally never bothered with the flu shot as my immune system is fairly good but I think I'll do the flu and Covid every year now if that what helps get the world back to normal.

As my point above, until we get to c.80% fully vaccinated I think this should be the norm. It is in the UK at least at the moment (that may change on the 21st June).

    https://www.cnbc.com/2021/03/29/cdc...a-covid-vaccines-was-80percent-effective.html

For what it's worth, I don't really believe there's an exact number. Some sources say 80%. Others say 70% to 80%. And others 60%. I even saw one that said that according to a study it was between 29% to 84%.

It's really all over the place.

You really believe the percentages that they feed you?

I was trying to convince myself more than anything but I don't relieve believe that bs. Every 2 weeks they come up with new numbers and studies. Hard to believe anything that they say tbh.

At the end of the day, one dose is better than no doses. Whether you have 67% chances of still catching it or only 10%, if you do catch it the symptoms won't be as bad as they would be with no vaccine at all imo.

I'm not denying the delta variant, i'm just not a big believer of the percentages and numbers that they give. Could be more, could be less. The percentages constantly change based on new sources and studies.

I mean yeah that's usually the way studies and science as a whole goes where a statistic or theory is to be believed until there's a new statistic or theory to debunk the older one. it's unfortunate that it can be like that sometimes but it is what it is I guess

Haha! After one shot, you may or may not be immune. So you should stay at home, but go to work. Socialise but don't talk to people outside of your bubble. Go out but don't go out.
