Mar 19, 2017 sits comfortably in his elite 4 (nothing was the same, take care, if you're reading this, more life). 1. Nothing Was The Same 2. More Life 3. Take Care 4. If You're Reading This It's Too Late
Mar 19, 2017 I'm not a Drake fan, but "More Life" is great. It's the 1st Drake project I enjoyed so much tbh.
Mar 19, 2017 I would comfortably make the statement that as good as Take Care is, More Life is better. Take Care is iconic in that it started the "new Toronto" sound with the work the Weeknd, 40, and Drake put in to it, and it took us by surprise because of career risks like Marvin's Room. It's a very good album, and certainly elite in his catalogue, but there are too many 7/10 songs that fill in the spots between the 10/10 songs. More Life has less holes, maybe 2 songs on it that you could poke legitimate holes in. He still calls back to the atmospheric sounds in Take Care, but does a much, much better job at it (see: Teenage Fever). When he's rapping, he's really rapping. I love UGK, but hard to argue that Lose You isn't a better song (hard to argue that Lose You isn't a top 10 career song by Drake for that matter). Even at 22 tracks, it never feels bloated like Take Care does.
Mar 19, 2017 Sounds a lot fresher than Take Care but I'll wait to see how well it age. More Life is f--- n great tho
Mar 19, 2017 Make Me Proud off the top. We'll Be Fine too. But so much of the same too with Good Ones Go, Practice, Doing It Wrong etc. (even though these are all really good songs)
