@M Solo not sure if you said it in this thread but this is a response to the post where you said that Castle is okay but he did it better with Deja Vu etc.

I agree to an extent. I do think Deja Vu is a better song by far, but the fact that he did 'the same thing' I don't fully agree with.

I mean how many songs do rappers make about the same s--- every day?

How many songs did Jay make about how he was a hustler back in the days? Or how great he is? For example you got 'Crown' and 'Reminder'. Both completely different songs sound wise but the concept is kinda the same: I made millions and got many awards/sales. Not trying to say bad about either song btw, just an example. The fact that one is a better song about that subject doesn't discredit the other imo.

Now Deja Vu and Castle are both about this drug addiction and his rise to fame. Castle though, is so different since its from the perspective of a letter he writes to his daughter. So what he says might be the same, but in a completely different way. Again, I think Deja Vu s----s on Castle but it doesn't (have to) discredit the latter imo.
