Jun 9, 2018 You don't have to be so dismissive/combative tho. It makes it a draining exercise that becomes about ego/being right instead of discussion and learning. That aside... you're doing a good job of arguing it. You can have arguments about who started what all the way up to the first time someone made a beat with rocks in the stone age tho lol. At the end of the day... It's pretty d--- clear Eminem had a lot of influence.
Jun 9, 2018 bro...the 2 songs are nothing alike at all...completely different concepts...thats like saying 2pac So Many Tears and nickleback lullaby are copies from each others
Jun 9, 2018 what does the black guys have to do with anything? why is their color an issue for you? what i am saying is, Eminem popularized a style that wasnt commercial before him
Jun 9, 2018 eeeeeh, biggie was more of the same...rapping about gangstas guns b------s and all of that....again, eminem was different
Jun 9, 2018 I don't understand. His subject matter was that. But he was 100% as detailed and meticulous as Eminem. You're wrong. So now it's Eminem was the first rapper to create stories about, a certain subject or theme? Biggie is/was a better storyteller than Eminem is.
Jun 9, 2018 THANK YOU, yes that what i was trying to say for 4 pages jesus..he made rapping about subjects different than what everyone rapped about popular... i actually think there is a skit about it on one of his albums
Jun 9, 2018 btw, nelly himself would tell you eminem had more impact on the culture than he did..biggie would too if you can somehow resurrect him to ask
Jun 9, 2018 oh..your actually gonna deny that was most of his subjects? ok i will leave this thread now its obviously trolling
Jun 9, 2018 a rapper reflecting on his own career vs someone else isnt the same as someone opinion on a scientific fact charlie now im out
Jun 9, 2018 all eyez on me really isn't that good compared to me against the world.... also low end theory is still good but aged terribly compared to MM
Jun 9, 2018 so I see that you keep mentioning authenticity in your posts. define what the term authencity means to you
Jun 9, 2018 You can kinda argue its application is completely arbitrary but to me it's about being genuine. Raw. Real. Pure. Like there are a ton of gangster rappers out there... But you know DMX and 2Pac came from a real place. The pictures they painted were drawn from real, heightened emotions. Whether they were mob bosses or official g--- members doesn't matter. They were intense characters that actually had a lot behind what they were saying. You could just tell. They were hardened soldiers but vulnerable and sensitive. Their spirits are laid bare in the music. They were very human. Kanye too. He says what he wants to say. Some may argue that because he tries so hard to be authentic he inherently isn't but I'd disagree. I think Kanye is who he is. That doesn't mean I don't like Rick Ross for example. His music is just less impactful for me. It's just never going to hit in such a potent way.
