May 20, 2018 Word of caution for prospective future Australians: permanent visas are notoriously expensive and as such, permanent residency is locked behind a pay wall that sort of doesn't justify the quality of the Australian experience. Married an Australian this year, wanted to apply for a spouse visa, but couldn't foot the $7000 AUD bill to justify the career opportunities available to me by living there long term. Went with a working holiday visa to stay with my spouse while she undergoes the lengthy Green Card process, as it is more realistic since I'm a regular f---ing human who doesnt have deep enough pockets to deserve to live in Australia apparently.
May 20, 2018 Sat next to an Aussie lady from Victoria on a flight last year. She really sold Australia as the place to be. Said s--- is a lot more laid back there than in America.
