the lack of a stand-out song like Still DRE, The Next Episode, etc. is the main weakness I noticed.

Eminem not a weakness on this album imo. great contribution. solid verse.

True, this album is very consistent but it lacks that one standout track. That song that will be played 20 years from now.

I was really hoping for one of those. I mean I'll probably consistently listen to Genocide and Gone and s--- but none of those will be those "Oh yeah, that Dre song!" songs. nothing that you hear and automatically think "Dre". When you hear that piano on Still DRE it's like "Ohhh f--- yeah!"

Yeah. If I had to choose that type of track, I think the one that comes the closest to being classic Dre is Talking To My Diary. The beat is just insane. But there's still a little something missing. Probably a third verse would have been nice. It feels a little short.

I think it's a very solid project but like you said, it's missing that one song where you go, this is perfection.

    King Mez.

It's a little frenetic in places. Beat switches and short tracks make it sound like an album sampler.

I kind of agree there isn't a proper, standout track on there. It fits the release method that there isn't really a single on this project, but a smooth, familiar track like 'Kush' wouldn't have hurt.

I do not understand the hate on Eminem's verse. I have yet to hear a legit argument to why it was so bad? I thought this was the 2015 Eminem we wanted? Or did we want the eminem that raps about mcdonalds, kmart, poop, farts, and sluts with a supersonic fast choppy flow? Explain @Koolo or anyone else.
My biggest gripe with the album is the pitch change in Dre's voice. I feel that his voice is iconic and the higher pitch tone ruins that appeal. They do the same with Snoop on the Connor song but it sounds so hard and dope that it is okay. Plus we get Snoop's iconic voice on his other verse anyway.
All minor bs aside this album is a classic 10/10 ad I am glad to be sharing this amazing time with everyone. Enjoy the album my chiggas.

I think its biggest weakness is that it doesn't have these timeless & defining singles that Dre has always been remembered for on his past two albums. When you think The Chronic, you immediately think "Ain't Nuttin' But a G Thang." When you think 2001, your mind goes "Still Dre" or "Forgot About Dre" without a moment's hesitation. Compton is a cinematic and extremely cohesive album—it's a much better listen from start to finish than 2001, probably moreso than The Chronic as well (it's been awhile since I've listened). It might even be his best album when looked at as a whole after we strip our nostalgia goggles. Obviously there are some songs I'll be playing more than others and a few I may start skipping down the road, but I think the lack of a huge hit single takes away from its overall "character" a bit, if that makes sense.

Still, we have to keep in mind that this is Dre's first album not only this decade, but this century. Most people still had dial-up when 2001 dropped, and album rollouts are a lot different in 2015. The whole Pharmacy/Beats 1 announcement and album stream truly made it an event that we could all experience together.

    Agree 100% actually.

And I stand corrected in my earlier post. I think ONE of it's biggest weaknesses is the hook on Satisfaction. Did not like that what so ever

    Agree with @BigCountry 100%

But lol @ 'if eminem'. IF my brother had a vagina he would be my sister.
I like eminems verse, a part of it even a lot but it's one of the weakest parts of the album. Mostly because the rest is just really great

His verse is pretty good, it's about the best I'd expect from 2015 Eminem. It just kinda takes me out of the album's atmosphere. Animals --> Talking to My Diary would have been a great ending.
