Things could always be worse. You could be a gay m--- addict who owns tigers and seduces straight men while rocking a mullet.

So we have something like 'senior hours' right? People over the age 65 have 2 hour window each day to go shopping. Only old people can be in stores, that's to prevent them from getting infected from younger people.
Every store can sell something only for old people.

I asked my boss about it, she said I'm dumb, laughed at me and said there's no such thing in our store. Alright.

The thing is, if someone controlled this store, I would be the one to pay the ticked

I think it's time to find myself more ambitious job after the pandemic.

Yeah we have the same in the UK. But it is specific to Supermarkets. And it's not so much about their health, it's about making sure they get to the fully stocked shelves and take what they need before the vultures come along and rip it apart. This also applies to people who work for the hospitals. I also don't think supermarkets HAVE to do this but they have all done it because if you don't the bad reputation will follow you forever.

Oh and BTW, your boss sounds like a proper d-ck.

My boss probably lives in UK in her head, cause it's been clearly said EVERY store ONLY for 65+ y/o for 2 hours. Younger people need to wait.

And yes, we HAVE to do this.

I lowkey want to get a ticked just to prove my point...

After denying the seriousness of the virus for months, Elon Musk had a heel turn and said he was gonna donate ventilators—and apparently instead he shipped a bunch of CPAP machines made by a different company that he slapped the Tesla logo on. And CPAP machines can actually help SPREAD the virus lol

@Slyk stuff like this is why I think this guy is an absolute tool / dipshit

Incredible to think that this is worse than 9/11. I thought nothing could be worse than that.

there may be more dead in the US from this than 9/11, but watching 2 planes fly into skyscrapers, people jumping out of windows and then those massive buildings falling to the ground is far more worse in my mind.

I think if like 200k people die from this, this is worse. I agree that this isn't worse yet tho.

not only are the death counts already worse(much worse if you count globally), but this virus shut down and changed society more too and had a worse impact on the economy.

By the time this is over with, the final death count just in the US could be 100x worse than 9/11.

I'm curious to see what happens to the economy/daily life after everything being shut down for months(?)

Like, yea the virus is bad and people are dying (not as drastic as jumping off skyscrapers but the numbers are still there), but I honestly don't think our system is/was prepared to handle this level of unemployment and potential homelessness. It'll be interesting to see where we're at in a month.

as long as we've been a species we've dealt with disease and outbreaks. We've never dealt with a 9/11. I mean if we think of it that way the Flu kills 220k-700ka year and you've probably never once even thought to compare that to 9/11. Just different perspective I guess, I grew up near NYC and had family members who worked there. This will k--- more obviously

This is still so hard to process in my head. Like, seriously, this is a flu virus that kills more than the actual influenza. Let's not cripple the whole f---ing world over it. Yet on the other hand, it's the unknown and there is no vaccine so I completely get that we need to stop the spread of it more than anything and allow the scientists the time to create a vaccine.

I don't like people comparing or measuring this against 9/11 or any other terrorist attack though. That was a targeted attack with nothing more than mass death in mind. This is just Mother Nature throwing us a curve ball. We'll get past this but I believe it has to get worse before it gets better.

Anyway, now is a great time to buy stocks and shares!

sickening that this could have been stopped had the Chinese doctors on Dec 30th who alerted the medical community in China about the virus but was shut down by Wuhan officials.

If things were closed off then it would have contained & eliminated most likely.
Letting people in for Chinses New Year should be classed as a criminal act by the people who let that happen.

All that said the response by Goverments around Europe & in the US has been a disgrace. So slow to act.
